I'm Anthony but please call me by my nickname 'Dai'

I am now retired in Portugal. I receive a lot of Couch requests every day. I reply to everybody and try to be as helpful as possible but sometimes I'm unable to accept guests. We have three guest rooms, two for AirBNB which are really busy due to the extremely low price and one for Couchsurfers which is often booked well in advance because that's free and everybody wants free.

MY EXACT LOCATION Go to Cais do Sodre metro station and take a ferry across the river (8 minutes) for just €1.25
My apartment is ten to twelve minutes walk from the ferry. It's up a steep hill but if you have heavy baggage, there is also an elevator.

My UK home is in Bournemouth , England but now I am retired and I am living in Lisbon, Portugal.

I rent our spare room to Air Bee N Bee visitors so sometimes I have no place free.

I am a very good listener and I don't expect to do all the talking.

I don't care whether you are black, brown, white or yellow . I don't care if you are male or female, short or tall, old or young, gay or straight. Just be honest, friendly, polite, punctual and considerate and we should get on fine.

I like most Julia Roberts, Maggie Smith, Helen Mirren, Kate Winslet and Meryl Streep movies. Notting Hill, The Holiday and Bridget Jones are among my favourite movies. I love Lonely Planet books but the next book I will read is called 'The Jacaranda Tree' I read it many years ago and loved it.

There really are so many. I've travelled in the cockpit of a Boeing 727. I've walked on the Great Wall of China. I've driven a passenger train in India, I've swum in the Dead Sea and Galilee in Israel. I've sailed in the Gulf of Tonkin in Vietnam, I've driven my motorcycle from Manali to Bodh Gaya in India, and I've set up and managed my own factory. Well I could add that when I was in my late teens I visited India & Nepal alone with even a tour of Moscow on the way.
