About Me
*Now travelling through London! Let's meet up.
My actual name is Imran Rasid, age 27, a Malaysian born citizen and now a graduate student studying History of Southeast Asia at one of the public Malaysian university. Antid Oto is actually my pen name, as I am also a writer for political magazines. I am generally an easy going chap, enjoy traveling very much, and love to get to know people of different cultures and backgrounds. I am big on History (hence, a History student) and this partly informed the reason why I like traveling so much. The world is so vast containing so many beautiful things that it will sinful not to go travel to witness it.
Despite the constant bombardments of negative stories in the media, I refused to believe that the world is dominated by wicked people. There are many kind-hearted individuals out there, and my journey across the world and meeting new friends is a way of reminding myself about those people.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am very new with this so I have no idea how this actually works. But people told me this is the best way to make long lasting friends while traveling so I guess why not I just give it a shot.

Music, Movies, and Books
Questions asking favourite list are always a tough one. But I will give it a go.
Fav Book: Hegel's Science of Logic(it's dense, I know). Educated in Philosophy this books opened up so many doors for me to enter academia and engages with social issues in a more critical manner. In some ways, it forced me to think in abstract terms, and yet still able to come back to reality. Praxis, as some would said it.
Favorite Fiction: Murakami's works / the great indonesian literary figure- Pramoedya Ananta Toer
Favourite Movie: hm..not sure. I watched Avengers End Game recently, it's pretty good.
Nextflix: Sex Education, and Lucifer.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Amazing thing? Well, I started an organization called "Imagined Malaysia" a few years ago to work on promoting a critical understanding of history in public spaces. We run conferences, lectures, forums, and publishing some magazines. It's a small initiative but it does trigger some debates in the Malaysian setting.
