About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Keep moving forward

ABOUT ME

I am a college professor who teaches musical theatre voice. I strongly desire to somehow make the world a better place through music, and maybe, through teaching. I am a feminist, but I do not believe in power. I am intrigued by different cultures and traveling and look forward to meeting and understanding people throughout this site. I want to experience life and the world to the best of my ability. I long for understanding, understanding of people, understanding of myself, understanding of my surroundings, etc. I want there to be more to my life than music and teaching, but I fear there is not. I love to read because it gives me insight into another's mind. I love dogs and all animals and sometimes I drink to much wine. I am a little bohemian. I am extremely positive because I refuse to live my life unhappy.

PHILOSOPHY

I try to live life extremely positively. I refuse to live my life unhappy. I try to bring this philosophy to everyone that I meet through positive energy. I believe very much in being geniune. I am not a private person. There are no hidden messages with me. My life, my feelings, my experiences, everything that I am are on the table the moment you meet me. I am incredibly open to all types of people and philosophies. I relate to people by connecting with them on a personal level. I find something we have in common and I focus on that feeling, thought, or experience. I have a very high moral standard for myself, but my morals are not conventional. I used to teach high school, which causes me to have a very high tolerance for angst and also helps me relate to all different types of people. I try to live my life as freely as possible and encourage all others to do the same.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I want to be able to meet interesting people that I would not meet otherwise, through hosting and surfing. I think this site allows people the freedom and opportunity to travel without a great deal of cost. I also look forward to seeing different cities from an insider's perspective.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have couchsurfed in Costa Rica as well as Atlanta. I am open to hosting surfers and hope to host a lot more!

I traveled to Costa Rica by myself, which is a really big feat for me :)

Teach, Learn, Share

I am new to the mid-West, so the couchsurfers and I can learn the area together! I can also share my musical skills with singing and piano. I would love to learn about other cultures and places around the world and hope to do so by meeting other couchsurfers.
