Présentation
À propos de moi
Hi! I'm Antoine.
I'm Australian but currently I'm a student at l'École Nationale Supérieure Maritime in Marseille where I'm studying to become an officer on a ship. At the moment I'm working on the biggest sailing yacht in the world, sailing around the Baltic and Mediterranean!
I was born in Sydney but my mum is French and my dad is a Kiwi (New Zealander). I speak English and French and sometimes a mix of both.
I'm always up for an adventure and keen to learn as much as possible from people I meet! I'm passionate about science, especially physics in which I completed my undergraduate degree at the University of Sydney. I also really like animals, especially birds and ducks (I've always had pet ducks..).
Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing
I'm on Couchsurfing to meet new people and discover new cultures and hopefully share some stories too!

I don't watch a lot of movies but one of my favourites would be No Country for Old Men and The Big Lebowski.
Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue
With my two closest mates, I recently travelled to one of the most remote parts of Siberia, in the region of Oymyakon (Оймякон), where some of the coldest temperatures on Earth have been recorded.
We were very lucky to be able to catch a rare glimpse of the unique nomadic life of the Eveny reindeer herders who live in isolation from civilisation in Northern Siberia. The Eveny family who hosted us on their territory, took us by reindeer-pulled sleighs to their winter camp in the wilderness of the taiga forest. The thermometer stayed below -40 degrees centigrade for almost two weeks and sometimes dropped into the not-so-balmy realm of the -50's. Baffin, a Canadian polar equipment company, Hendrick's Gin and Kathmandu sponsored our trip with equipment (and gin) and UNSW gave us a small grant to help us produce a short documentary. All-in-all, it was an incredible trip. I miss it and I'd really like to return.
Ce que j'aimerais partager avec mes hôtes
I would love to share my culture... a mix of Aussie (Australian), French and Kiwi (New Zealand) culture. I would also be happy to help anyone improve their english or french.
