ABOUT ME

Antoine and I are interested in travel and in the esthetic of the urbanity in general. Antoine's passion for architecture started with photography, his work is important in his life. He believes that artistic expression demand a long time to be valuable and achieved. Elsa likes to live one day at a time and discover new things. We both love to cook and have friends over for an international meal depending on our mood, it is just fun to improvise something every time.

PHILOSOPHY

We try to improve our lives in this world one day at the time. Sport and social life is the best way to keep your body and mind healthy. Eventhough we sometimes run like crazy, it's important to look at the world around us and do simple things like sharing and exchange our passions, helping someone from time to time, laugh at us, encourage a local producer, etc.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We love to travel and to explore the world, it is important to us that we go out of our shell and see what's going on all around us.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We both have travelled and lived a couple of years in Europe, working part time there. We've managed to travel through friend's places for a couch or go to the YMCA, youthhostels, etc. We were the host of a very nice guy in Copenhagen 2 years ago and it went really well, we were able to cook together+hang out a couple of times, that was really pleasant.

Interests

-travels : we'd love to go for a long long trip in Asia, South America, etc but a couple of weeks away is always good for the spirit
-Photo, art : contemporary artists mostly
-sport: tennis, snowboard, ski, cycling, swimming
-cooking, going to the market with our bikes

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Antoine's favorite film is a belgian movie. It's called "C'est arrivé près de chez vous". Elsa likes movies from Lars Von Trier, Kieslowski, David Lynch, Cohen brothers, french cinema, etc

music: very ecclectic: world music like Ravi Shankar, Cesaria Evora, Fela Kuti, Orchestra Baobab,Rachid Taha, Gypsy music, jazz, Beck, Nina Simone, Patrick Watson, Cinematic Orchestra, Tom Waits, Metric, Miles Davis

Books : Paul Auster, Anna Gavalda, Beigbeder, Régent Ducharme, Romain Gary, and so many more. Elsa recently read Stieg Larson's trilogie very fast...couldn't stop!

Teach, Learn, Share

Antoine can teach painting technics ( acrylic or oil) drawing, photography, some basic cooking too.

Elsa speaks several languages and often finds special places that you would not have think of.
