About Me
about me v0.1: What can I say, grew up in NL, parents are foreigners, stayed in school for way too long (I have dual degrees in Comp Sci and Finance), worked in London for a bit, loved it and hated it at the same time, moved back to NL to enjoy the quiet life. Currently working in government. Learning is my main thing in life, whether it's languages, the lay of the land, getting to know wonderful people, anything really. If I can't travel I get really miserable. Plus I have been known to party at times.
Interests: architecture, linguistics, history, economics
Pastimes: reading, working out, swimming, cycling, the occasional video game
Places: Barcelona, Berlin, Israel, Japan, South Africa, anywhere in the States that isn't NYC (it's a personal thing)
Peeves: self-centredness, being judgmental of things you don't know
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Anyone can stay in a hotel, but what are the experiences that really stick? It's getting to know the oddballs, the quirks, the after-hour eccentricities of a place, to really move past the transience of tourism. Blah, in other words - things are so much more fun and interesting staying at somebody else's.
