About Me

Hello Couchsurfing community!

From mid-2019 I will be settling in Brno, CZ for a corporate job and looking forward to achieving some stability and restarting to host and surf in Europe.

Note: Currently I smoke tobacco, but always respect my neighbors, and smoke in a way that doesn't disturb any of my surrounding ones.
In September 2017 I left "home" for an indefinite world trip, so my location has been unstable.

Anton-2017: my current version (around 25 years old) has upgraded with many skills and activities, but has still not found a stable definition. So feel free to compile it yourself by meeting me in person :) Still hungry to explore, travel, meet, make mistakes, learn and have fun.

I am launching a mini-mission to (re)unite, (re)integrate, (re)kindle, (re)create my life. All the (re) prefixes are added because I am trying to naturally, logically and adequately connect my past to my future and rebuild some bridges that might have been burnt, while building new bridges too, or burning some wrong ones.

Anton-2012: Hey! I study physics and do research, but I also often wonder about doing something else in life. So I learn bits and pieces of every profession and look for people with non-standard lifestyles. I like taking up volunteer projects and youth exchanges, and I've been making traveling my priority for a couple of years. I'm very happy that I got to go to a lot of new places lately.

Some quotes that I believe in:
Life is a game - don't play alone. (c) Loesje
The core of man's spirit comes from new experiences. (c) Chris McCandless
Be the change you wish to see in the world. (c) Gandhi
Not all those who wander are lost. (c) J.R.R. Tolkien

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

2019: traveling in Europe
2018: working in hostels (Iran, Georgia)
2017: traveling again (Middle East, Caucasus)
2014 to 2017: mostly hosting (Poland)
2010 to 2013: mostly surfing
(Europe, USA)

Safeguarding the classic and noble values of Couchsurfing :D

Doing good shares of surfing and hosting as well, and occasionally using Hangouts and Events to find some good company.

Also, I signed up a dozen of my friends to try out CS already.

I relied on Couchsurfing on two long hitchhiking trips, one around the USA (18 homes in 15 states), and the other one in Europe (9 homes in 6 countries), traveling from one host to another. These proved to be really rewarding experiences. I also used Couchsurfing locally in Ukraine, Belarus, Poland.

I like how the network and platform is evolving with time, and there is still a lot to be discovered for me on CS, and embrace this change of format and usage.
