About Me
Hey I'm Antonia, and I'm not arriving for many years yet ;)
I'm currently traveling with my beloved boyfriend Adrian. I am born and raised in Germany's capital of Berlin and have done all sorts of things: studying in Athens, Greece, which soon became a second home to me; I did a school exchange to Australia, and ended up finding a true family there. I studied biochemistry back home in Berlin eventually, not without having a quick research internship pit stop in Singapore.
I worked in a hostel ins Berlin's trending district of Mitte, with friends and students on their feature film projects, as a tutor and as a waitress in a beer-and-snitzel-archetypical German restaurant. I am now visiting the world of grand companies, being a sales rep for vaccinations. Lets see what else the world has in store.
I love to travel, I have done my fair share of it and I'm never going to be done.
Adrian comes from the envy-inspiringly beautiful south of Germany, just where the Alpes start to rise up. He grew up around pristine lakes, deep green meadows, good hearty Bavarian beer, meat and lots of might mountains. Very different to my chaotic, trashy, ever-broke but eternally sexy Berlin ;) He has a lot of experience in the social sector, from working in a hospital, doing child care, school supervision and work with disabled people. As a caring, attentive gardener and a love for architecture and engineering, he is now waiting on his application for studying phytotechnology this autumn.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am on Courchsurfing because it is one of the best ways to use the internet ;)
.. to actually connect between people and support the idea of strangers getting to know each other. Mentalities and cultures are fascinating and the differences between people can be mesmerizing - but we're still all people. And there's no other way to know that than to meet each other.
I have been travelling and living abroad so often in my life now and my conclusion is that the fastest way to understand what a new place is truly about, is to listen to its people and see them live their normal lives.
Plus: locals always know the best food placesss :D :D

Music, Movies, and Books
I tons of the old classics like the Beatles, Bob Dylan and Rock 'n Roll in the style of Buddy Holly, Jerry Lee Lewis or Little Richard. Nothing as relaxing as some Billie Holiday with Stars Fell on Alabama or all that Gershwin repertoire. I never pass by a beautiful singer songwriter tune andI have arrived in the current age though, by bands like the Cat Empire, Daugther, Swing Republic and Systema Solar. Generally: if you can dance to it, I'm going to like it.
Movies: The Piano, Smoke - Blue in the Face, The Fantastic Mr. Fox, The Fall, The Grave of the fireflies, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, All Monty Pythons, The Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Moulin Rouge, Cabaret, Psycho, 3-Iron
Books: It, The Lost Thing, Tad Williams multiple works, The lady of Camelias, How'd you do it Mr.Hitchcock, Watermark, Catcher in the rye
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Having found true friends all over the world.
Not drinking buddies, not people you happy-birthday on facebook when the time's come, but actual friends that I have kept in touch with ever since.
What I Can Share with Hosts
My sparkling personality. Haha well I guess all my stories and I can promise you my interest in your country, your culture, you history, your language, your customs - tell my everything. I mean it.
We will furthermore be very low maintenance: we are completely independent. If you want to show us around, have meals with us etc. that's amazing but if you gotta do your own stuff we wont need to be entertained. We'll be interested in your suggestions, recommendations and ideas - but we're not expecting them. If you host us, give us your ground rules, we'll respect them. If you let us stay in your home we are very happy to help you with household stuff of course. We'll try to earn our keep :)
P.s. Since couchsurfing has gotten quite a reputation in this sort of thing: just to make things honest and clear from the start. We are NOT looking for sexual encounters or favours. We are actually looking for open minded, fun people to travel/stay with. We do not expect or offer any sexual relations.
