About Me

I'm 20 years old. At the present, I'm living in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, as a MSc student. I also lived in Groningen, still in The Netherlands, and Saint-Étienne, France. I love cinema, politics, science, technology and arts. I am (or well, used to be) a pianist in several bands, both jazz and indie pop. Currently I am learning the guitar. I like practicing sports but I'm not a huge supporter, although I really enjoy analysing the strategy behind football. Currently I am training to take part to Obstacle Course Racing. Last but not the least, I am a very foodie person.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because I want to find a different way of traveling, a new way to meet the locals. A way to avoid touristic traps, eating good local food and know the most hidden places and curiosities of the city.

Interests

I've been playing piano for 13 years, I've been doing judo for 11 years and kung fu and jūjitsu for 5 years. Since I really like running and free climbing, I recently started to be interested in OCR competitions such as the Spartan Race. Enjoying the cinema, I've taken part in several film festivals such as Giffoni Film Festival (Italy), Venice Film Festival (Italy) and Doha-Tribeca Film Festival (Qatar). I love going to concerts and festivals, playing Monopoly and, last but not the least, I'm an extraordinary chef.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favourite movie list is pretty huge, I would watch them billions of time and I would never get tired of it. My favourite movie directors are Sorrentino, von Trier and Kubrick (who I have to admit is actually very overrated). I am not an huge fan of TV series, the only two who I really enjoyed are Game of Thrones and Hannibal.
Film: All Kubrick's movies, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Nuovo Cinema Paradiso, La Grande Bellezza, Frankenstein Jr., Watchmen, Le Merveilleux Destin d'Amélie Poulain, Memento, Interstellar, Ruby Sparks, The Last Emperor, The Matrix Trilogy, Mine Vaganti, Fantastic Mr. Fox, Grand Budapest Hotel, Big Fish, Her, Once Upon a Time in America, Little Miss Sunshine, Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs, Fight Club, The Boat That Rocked, Birdman, Trainspotting, The Corpse Bride, Taxi Driver, This Must be the Place.

I enjoy classical Roman and Greek literature, as well historic and philosophical books.
Books: Psychopathology of Everyday Life, Ars Amatoria, The Metamorphosis (Apuleius), The Metamorphosis (Kafka), Dialogues with Leucó, Games of Thrones, Hunger Games.

I really like rock music, especially the alternative one, even if I am starting to be interested also in electronic and (mainly Italian) rap music.
Music: Muse, Mecna, Daft Punks, She, I Cani, Calcutta, Mondomarcio, Wolfmother.
