About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I have often changed my mission in life, until I realized that what I really wanted to do in my life is simply to help people do what they are passionate about. The reason is also very simple: "World is a better place with more happier people". And couchsurfing is just one of the ways to make myself available to share my support.
Is it just about a better world? Well, I'm not that naive. I also have a long-term project: "Spend the rest of my life travelling to meet all of the people I hosted or met on CS".
ABOUT ME
Rational, balanced, and always looking for the next challenge.
I lived in my hometown for most of my life, but I studied in Turkey and I travel a lot for work that brought me to live in many countries and cities. I started hosting with my family and since then, they are still hosting even without me.
PHILOSOPHY
Reading makes you a better person, but travelling is like having an endless book with infinite tales, anytime you open this book, you'll find a new story.
Therefore, don't keep your book closed.
Two sentences can describe why I host people: "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you"
and "It's best to give while your hand is still warm" - P. Roth
I also have other good quotes:
"To have and not to give is often worse than to steal." -Marie von Ebner-Eschenbach
"There are two ways of spreading light: to be the candle or the mirror that reflects it." -Edith Wharton
"Money may be the husk of many things but not the kernel. It brings you food, but not appetite; medicine, but not health; acquaintances, but not friends; servants, but not loyalty; days of joy, but not peace or happiness." -Henrik Ibsen
"We must learn to honor excellence in every socially accepted human activity, however humble the activity, and to scorn shoddiness, however exalted the activity. An excellent plumber is infinitely more admirable than an incompetent philosopher. The society that scorns excellence in plumbing because plumbing is a humble activity and tolerates shoddiness in philosophy because it is an exalted activity will have neither good plumbing nor good philosophy. Neither its pipes nor its theories will hold water." -John W. Gardner
"I used to think that the brain was the most wonderful organ in my body. Then I realized who was telling me this." -Emo Phillips
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I hosted many couchsurfers and every time has been a great experience, so I'm waiting for you (unless I'm travelling abroad, in this case I hope you'll be waiting for me or maybe my family can host you)
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Everytime I meet a couchsurfer, I feel like I'm travelling the world, even if I'm at home.
Whenever I can, I like lodging and spending time with couchsurfers
Interests
I like reading about any topics but in particular society and economics, travelling the world (obviously) and I love mountains and all activities related (e.g. rock-climbing and trekking). I'm also very passionate about coffee and tattoos.

Music, Movies, and Books
I listen to any kind of music, from heavy metal,nu metal, power progressive, rock (Slipknot, Polyphia, Metallica, Linkin Park, Kings of Leon, The Smiths...), to rap, rnb (Eminem, Logic, ..), melodic dubstep, chillstep, downtempo, jazz, blues, deep house, pop (Paolo Nutini, Coldplay, Negrita, ...) and so on; hence, if you have a genre I haven't mentioned, please share it with me.
I used to love watching movies, but I've become so busy that I had to re-prioritize and now I rarely use my spare time to watch movies/series; however, my favorite are: House of Card, Prison Break, Breaking Bad, House,...
About movies, I love Woody Allen (I'm quite sure I've watched all of his movies), Kim ki-duk, old Italian movies, old horror movies, drama, comedy and also some animation movies, but also about the movie my list is too long to be placed entirely here; I have also a list of movies suggested by people I met and it's becoming longer and longer, but sooner or later I hope to shorten it.
Book? Essays are my favorite.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I was in New York when Irene (the hurricane) arrived. All day long I was closed in my room waiting for the ending of the storm.
Three days trekking in Trentino alone through the Alps meeting other hikers like me. I slept at the mountain refuges where I ate the really wholesome foods.
I've traveled in Turkey from the north east to Istanbul, going through south east (Trabzon, Erzurum, Rize, Batumi, Midyat, Mardin,.....it's a long list).
Dumpster diving in Wien and hitchhiking back home from there in two days and a half
I bolted a new 240 m climbing routes on Mount Terminio
First ascent in a day of the 670m high wall of Timpa di San Lorenzo
Every year I do something amazing. Hence I stop mentioning all of them. Let's talk about them at the dinner table
Teach, Learn, Share
I can take you to climb somewhere indoor or outdoor. Make a good cup of specialty coffee or talk about tattoo style and history.
I'm eager to learn everything, so if you know some recipes, you must share them with me; if you can do something that I can't, you must teach me. Therefore, I'd say this is the only condition if you want to stay here: you must share with me your knowledge and obviously I will do the same. Isn't it a big deal?
