About Me

I was born in Ragusa and grew up here. When I was 19 I moved to Florence to study Industrial Design and lived there for 10 years. I also spent one year living in Stuttgart (Germany), 6 months for the Erasmus Programme in Greece and 3 months in Valencia (Spain).

In 2015 I came back to my hometown willing to stay just a couple of months. Well, I now have a job here... so I'll stay for a while :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love the idea of sharing: couchsurfing is both couchsharing and culture-sharing. Best way to discover a place is through the experience of locals.

Always willing to meet new people (hard stuff to do here in this 60k people small town). So, that's why I'm on couchsurfing! :)

Interests

I'm interested in people: definitely, there's an universe inside each one of us. Love to express this universe using words, relaxing or even partying.

Music is another interest (and another universe): love to explore entire discographies in chronological order.

Together with music, I love the ability of humanbeings to create amazing things (bot material and non-material).

Love diversity!

Music, Movies, and Books

Reggae lover (good vibes): the Wailers, Lee Perry, Rocksteady (especially Lynn Taitt and the Jets).

Jazz lover (the power of creation): Freddie Hubbard, Chick Corea, Art Blakey, Buddy Rich

Of course, I also love other styles and performers: The Roots, Frank Zappa, Sly Stone, Franco Battiato and many more.

I love Fellini's movies (especially Amarcord). Hitchock rulez (especially for North to Northwest). Some other Italian directors like Sorrentino and Tornatore. And I want to say "thanks" to Orson Wells.

I was a fan of The Lord of the Rings saga. I think Herman Hesse's Narcissus and Goldmund is the best book I've ever read. I like the stories by Joseph Conrad and the books by a Sicilian author called Pirandello. I also enjoy another Sicilian writer: Andrea Camilleri and his Montalbano's saga.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I founded together with some friends a great startup called Fattelo! Such an amazing experience!

Teach, Learn, Share

I hold a course on the use of low-cost internet tools for the early stages in startups at the International School for Advanced Studies of Trieste.

I love to learn using MOOCs (Massive Online Open Course). Trying to learn guitar, I'm willing to learn how to sing and (why not?) how to act.

I'd love to share the history of my hometown (Ragusa) with others.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Probably another point of view on reality and few philosophical thoughts which can help in living better.
