About Me

I am 32 years old. I know that there is much world left to be seen. More will be left unknown than known. With that in mind, I try to guide myself toward meditation, accepting things as they are.

I have been in a few countries and have experienced the joy and generosity of the couchsurfing mentality. More than a few of the CS friends I have met was randomly in person first or at a CS event meet up.

I look to some reviews I have left for my friends. Man, Im crazy. Somehow my head has been in the air all of my twenties. But, ok. Here we are, a little bit older with more experience and a just a little bit more maturity. Still, one phrase I carry with me: Return to the child.
I remind myself to keep that innocent playfulness as an adult as well. There are too many grown folks out in the world with long faces, we could smile more, be less cunning.

Seeing other parts of the world and meeting new people have allowed me to see how us humans are really transparent with each other. No matter how big the ego is. It is always there, the real personality and mind of every person is there, on the lips, in the eyes, in the word. Speech is a reflection of the mind. This intuition seems to always attract me or other people to me with a like mindset. Everyone appreciates honest, transparent conversation.

Actually, living in Holland taught me that: say what u want clearly. Do what you say.

On meditation:

At this moment in life, I’m seeking to establish myself a bit further in the Vipassana technique of meditation.
My current trip to Canada is with this purpose. I will be at the center a couple of weeks.

So, its safe to say I am a quiet person. But I enjoy loud music :) and music with no lyrics preferably.

I love visual arts. Most of my time I dedicate to design, drawing, sketching or brainstorming ideas.
Reading is a habit. Most topics I find interesting I try to research them a bit before I bring them up in conversation.
I love to learn new things and to hear about things I’ve never heard of.

In regards to food, my only attitude is gratefulness. I cook consistently. Daily. Mostly veggies, meat on rare or special occasion (like if its what is served). I’m not picky but I would rather eat at home than out in order to be more conscious about the ingredients. Really, I will also just eat what there is, can’t complain with a mouthful.

I enjoy being with people, sometimes with or without conversation. Over the years I am developing this sensitivity to know when to speak or when to be quiet. Awareness arising from moment to moment.

Seeking continuous development of mind, body and soul.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Feels like a family here. After attending more than a dozen CS meetings in Amsterdam, I feel like Im at home with the world. Friends are everywhere.

Interests

Design and visual art:
Galleries and exhibitions, but like all this new experimental stuff. Temporary installations that blow your mind type of stuff.

New sounds. Music, inventions. Live music.

Art shows.

Sculptures (public or private)
I really enjoy those random works of art scattered throughout the cities. Almost feels like vision immortalized.

Museums of Science

Wood crafts. Artisan crafts. Metal engineering.

Art schools/ academies and universities (mostly for their innovative student projects)

Stuff about space and the cosmos and nature on Earth. (So watching docs on youtube)

Herbal and natural healing: eating good food, drinking teas from herbs in the garden. Yes. Gardening. I have a little garden at home I care for, it keeps me alive by staying green.

Journal writing and writing just for the hell of it. Notes to myself. Letters to family or friends. Notes to my future self.

Music, Movies, and Books

What can I say about music that hasn’t already been said? Life isn’t life without music.

I hope to one day go deeper into the art of cinematography and produce a film. Until then, I will watch no more film.

Books: eyyy the list is long but lately I’m hooked on wikipedia articles. But, physics (conventional and quantum), herbal medicine, human anatomy, neuroscience, studies of human behavior, are all topics I have read a book or two on. But with the internet at hand, books are more rare these days.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Landed in Europe with 2euro. Thrived and survived for five years, but everything passes.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share my meditation with you.
We can sit for an hour and learn the technique. Its simple, but the real work is in consistency.

I can cook for us as well. I’m willing to share my food and funds also. I love to learn new recipes and cook them together.

Sharing is an interesting topic. But normally, if I am cool with someone I will even share a cigarette (I mean, if it’s already lit).

I can share with you my culture and the hospitality of my home as well. Mi casa su casa.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Currently Im coming from Mexico, so I can bring something that fits in the bag, at your request, if you chose to make one (cant say for sure I can, but I’ll try) don’t say tequila, but Im thinking, what’s better than authentic tequila? (Remember its a national product not for export) I live in the heart of Mexico.
Candy, ceramics, or textile. Its all accessible.
