Love to travel, make new friends, and learn more about tech and humankind. Interesting how technology provides us with more but leaves us distracted and with less if we forget to be mindful. Just one click (a “like” or “thumbs up”) is all it takes to show support for someone on social media. Over time though, dialing the phone; meeting face to face; or talking in front of a few fellow earthlings can feel so unsettling. This can be true whether it’s an old friend whom you haven’t talked to in years or a fresh business prospect.

Of course, a “like” from time to time is great, but let’s remember to REALLY engage too: reach out and find ways to help someone. Helping each other is inherently part of our tribal instincts and we’re better off when we work together.

In my personal life, I love introducing new friends to each other for meals, karaoke, and random chats over tea. In “big cities” like Vancouver, meeting new people can be intimidating (Oh, and by the way, if you’re looking to make new friends or business relationships, check out Meetup.com).
