Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To see and enjoy the best eastern and central europe has to offer
ABOUT ME
I am 33, friendly, non-smoking guy from melbourne. I am genuinely curious about how others live and interact, and really enjoy seeing new places.
I am a little bit sporty but its more about the social side of things than playing to win. That said, I don´t like losing that much.
In 2008, I travelled around 7 months before settling in London, where I will probably be living for the foreseeable future. In that time I went to vietnam, then went on the transmongolian railway, before heading through the south of spain and up through portugal. I also went through central europe before visiting the relatives in malta.
PHILOSOPHY
My aim is to treat people the way I would like to be treated - I like to think I manage to do this more often than not.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
At the moment I see myself as more of a meeting for drinks find of guy. I really like the concept of meeting local people and engaging in local activities.
Hopefully though in the not too distant future I will be able to do the odd bit of hosting.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
So far I have mainly met other couch surfers for drinks and sightseeing. There has been the odd couch. This has all resulted in a few new friends and some fantastic experiences.
Interests
I am a keen kayaker (K1s), and also enjoy touch rugby, mixed netball, tennis, running and general fitness.
When I am not playing sport - I can be a bit of couch potato the flashing lights of the TV seem to call my name. Although, I can have my arm twisted into going for the odd drink.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: its mostly about pop, and particularly 80s pop, although I also like bands like the white stripes and the kaiser chiefs, the mountain goats...
Movies: The simpsons movie, gattica, the borne films, LA Love Story. Comedies, Action (Yes) Horror (no)
books: I will read almost anything, although some how I seem to end up reading a lot of crime fiction.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
parachuted, climbed the great wall, hoovercrafted on lake baikal - they are the most recent things anyway.
Teach, Learn, Share
Not sure what I can really offer in this respect. I can explain a bit of basic economics, and an understanding about how governments work. I might be able to explain some of the obscure sports popular in Australia as well.
