About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To explore and experience as many places as I can in this beautiful, amazing world. Last month I left the tiny 10 square mile rock called Little Cayman after spending a year there guiding scuba diver's on some of the most beautiful reef in the Caribbean. Now I am in the United States travelling around in my friend's 187k mile Suburu until June before returning to the UK and taking part in the Mongol Charity Rally from July to September (driving a tiny car from Europe to Siberia)- my website is www.teammaga.net for those that are interested.
ABOUT ME
My name is Antony and I have been travelling since July 2010 over 6 continents. I have been working in the dive industry for 5 years now but usually do it for 6-12 months in a place then travel as love to do both so much. I had my first couch surfing experience in the Philippines and have since then done it in Germany, South and Central America always having a great time with whom whoever is hosting me. Unfortunately as am on the move so much and am from a small island people don't usually go to I have not had the pleasure of being a host myself but fully intend on doing it in the future when is more possible.
I am a positive, organised person who loves to meet people, take photographs and see/experience as much as I can.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Since joining Couchsurfing in 2012 excellent experiences in 4 continent's in very different countries. The host's have been amazing and I love the whole experience of meeting someone local and having them really put as much effort in as possible to show you the real place that they live in, not just the side the tourists see. I really get involved when telling travel stories and also giving as much advice/tips as possible especially when have been to 74 countries and want other's to have as good a time as me. On Couchsurfing both with staying with people and going to event's in cities I meet likeminded people from all walks of life that I would usually never meet as can be quite shy.

Books- mainly non fiction such as biographies and exploration stories/founding of cities and countries but I do love Treasure Island!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Trekking the Himalayas for 3 weeks at the beginning of winter with my best friend in a weakened state from a horrific bout of food poisoning but achieving our goals to see Everest, reach base camp and scale two of the 3 high passes (reached 5600m).
Teach, Learn, Share
I really really really want to learn conversational spanish and am doing an ok but slow job right now as travel through Central/South America. I have done some english teaching myself in Thailand and Melbourne so can work both ways but need much more practice in both. I thoroughly enjoy trying and attempting to make local foods and learning new ways of doing things, customs and day to day life plus from my passion for everything underwater and photography I try to give as much advice, combat any fear's, and help.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I love sharing my experiences with other people, very much enjoy socialising through drinking or simply by camping/hiking into the wilderness. Can take you diving (if that's your thing and even if its not yet), am able to conjure up some dishes in the kitchen with Italian and Mexican being my favourites. I am a big movie lover so can go for hours discussing anything in that area (plus Game of Thrones I might also add- recently got hooked in a huge way)
