Overview
About Me
I am a basque musician teaching chemistry in Paris
Before this I was cycling through balkans (Budapest to Istanbul) with my accordion to meet balkan culture and musicians https://perso.ens-lyon.fr/antton.curutchet/balkantrip/about-me
And before I defended my PhD in Lyon
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Surfing is a way to discover local everyday life when travelling, and hosting is a way to travel during my everyday life at home ! Yes this sound cheesy, but I don't care, and actually the honest answer to this question would be that I use alternative apps like Trustroots and Warmshower more than Couchsurfing.
Interests
I play the accordion, flutes and bagpipes from the world, tuba, and others instruments
I used to do climbing, swimming, mountain running and cycling, but my current sport is mostly waiting for the pandemic to end.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hitchhiking in a side-car and swimming with a dolphin the same day in Doolin, Ireland ; stage-diving at the end of our concert ; solving a Rubik's cube with feet in a official competition ; playing accordion while running the last 5km of the Korrika (country-scale relay race in favour of basque language) ; beating a World Record (http://r.urdb.org/BpW) ; playing the sousaphone on the top of a climbing wall ; creating a beer-bottle-blower-band ; playing on stage with flutes I made myself ; building a ukulele at an instrument maker's ; looking for a flat in macedonian language ; cycling across a snowy mountain to cross a boarder ; Kadikoy sessions in Istanbul (they are extraordinary) and having a 4am soup after
What I Can Share with Hosts
A gentleman is someone that nows how to play bagpipe but doesn't. I can not play bagpipe for you if you want :)
I can cook, help you repair bicycles and stuff, show you the music I make
