I moved to Europe from USA a few months back for work, but it has been one long holiday since then. I make it a point to travel at least twice a month. I choose my destinations (pseudo-randomly) based on where the flight/train tickets are least expensive. Occasionally, I rent a car because I love to drive, especially in the Alps.

Unless I have family/friends visiting, I travel solo.

Couchsurfing is great because you are immediately in contact with someone who is local. And you know that that person is open to meet and talk.
