About Me

***
I have moved to Inari in Finland to explore Sàmi and Finnish cultures.

*****

2018: Hi, I live here on a mountain in a small wooden cabin. Been spending time in and around this outhouse for some years now and mainly studying, farming and foraging. Partly I am working on handicrafts with natural fibers from the jungle. I have some space to share too in this minimal, but then coming to me is not about a guesthouse-kind accommodation. It rather can be more of an adventure that one may not be ready for. Life up here is very basic and isolated. But the joy in an everyday picnic-like living makes it all extraordinary. For me, of course, this isolation is not an escape of any sort from society - I'm rather just on the edge of the grid. Once I get done with my daily chores, I study here, and so, minimalism serves me well right now. It is nothing like 'Into the Wild' or any of such reactionary escape. An alpine lifestyle doesn't need to be in the spirit of hating the urban. I have a project going on that I call gonzo ethnography. And otherwise I aspire to be a wilderness guide, to be a link between the woods and urbam folks.
Having spent the most of my adulthood with indigenous people of the Himalayas, most of the learning comes to me from their knowledge systems.

And yes, no electricity here. Apologies for my response rate.
If you're choosing to visit, I appreciate the randomness. Maybe you like goat milk.
Cheers!

Music, Movies, and Books

Sigur Ros, Hammock, the Album Leaf, Flanger and some experimental stuff. I like post rock!

I liked Stanley Kubrick movies, and some Aki Kaurismäki. But films like Baraka, Koyaanisqatsi etc are close to heart.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Some mountain honey that I harvest. Or maybe something or nothing.

Honestly, it's hard to commensurate a host's service.
