About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To manifest my deepest strengths.

Oh, and also to be an astronaut.

ABOUT ME

'Wanderer in the sea of mist'. Philosophical.
'passionate and honestly curious' is what my Brazilian friend had to say about me sometime back.

I'm not a social butterfly like some of my friends but honestly enjoy good and stimulating company. I love passionate people.

I love conversations over walks. Value them.

Ambidextrous.

I also happen to be a pilot. For fun. And because I want to be an astronaut one day.

PHILOSOPHY

"Beauty is truth, truth beauty.
That is all Ye know on earth, and all ye need to know."
Ah, Keats!

And

"The Spirit shall look out through Matter's gaze.
And Matter shall reveal the Spirit's face."

To manifest the greatest on Earth. That is not just mine but probably everybody's unconscious will. It is the wind that an inspired human will catch when he unfurls the sails of his ambition. And I live to defend and nourish my creativity so that one day we can achieve true human unity by conscious evolution.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Looking to meet new people from different cultures to travel with. I'm finally here after having informally CSed for quite a while..
Eventually, I would like to be the first person to host a couchsurfer on the moon.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've been couch surfing at a time when I didn't know CS.org actually existed. I think my experiences in Maine, Kamakura, Bangalore and the Himalayas have been wonderful. The surfers were all very interesting people with a very rich experience in one thing or another. And the meetups in London were simply splendid.

Interests

Everything has me curious.

How do I spend my time? Well, to begin, I don't 'spend' time. I 'collect' time by trying to make special moments last longer.. I think about the universe, mathematical physics, of how we might be able to develop a mathematical model of cognitive intelligence and integrate that in a seamless manner with the humanities - of how science 'emerges' from art and philosophy..

urgh, it's so difficult to list everything here! but I'll make an attempt.

Reading, writing and traveling are my love. I think more children today ought to be doing that. Turning inwards in quiet introspection is frequently very revealing.

In a sentence, I live, I think, I am.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music..well, I enjoy a broad range of world music, right from Western classical to old Japanese folk songs. I listen to Arabic songs, German pop, carnatic music, Beethoven and Franz Liszt.
My favourites, however, are Ludovico Einaudi and Hariprasad Chaurasia. These men have stolen my heart with their perfect renditions of musical ecstasy.

Movies: Some will forever remain classics. The Shawshank Redemption and The Last Samurai are perhaps my favorites. I want to watch so many movies but a lack of time is always my excuse. I don’t binge watch anything by myself, I need to be pleaded and prodded to do so.

Books: All of them (Science, philosophy, literature, esp poetry and Irish folklore as well as history and some (very few though) classics). I've never been particularly fond of consuming fantasy.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Most recent amazing experience - I piloted a small plane with friends down to NYC on my birthday, watched a Broadway musical, flew down the Hudson at night, circled the Statue of Liberty a couple of times and spent an ice-cream filled day in Connecticut before heading home to Boston.

Older -
When I was first driving down Mockingbird lane in Lisbon, Maine. It was one of the most beautiful places I had ever seen - the frozen lake by the pretty little house I was staying in, the atmosphere was perfect for some steaming tea.

And when I was halfway up Mt.Fuji in Japan, I felt dizzy by the sheer grandeur of the mountains and the air whispered of the Samurai's Bushido code of honor..I could literally project visions of the ancient ways of the land onto the landscape before my eyes..

Teach, Learn, Share

I can build robots. I want to learn everything and then teach everything.
I love teaching. The innocence and curiosity of a child never fails to hold me in rapture..I love to learn with children, talk to them and help them learn something new..right from the alphabet to calculus to machine-learning algorithms..
So yes, I can introduce you to the finest English masters of prose and poetry, to computer programming with artificial intelligence and robotics (mechanics and electronics), mathematics up to the level of a graduate course (I once was a teaching assistant). I can also teach basics of sewing (I'm a tyro myself), gardening and how to make a very good cup of tea. Oh, and I can go on and on about flying airplanes and old spaceships.
I would love to learn a new language (esp German), cooking, parenting (no, I’m not a dad) and get better at sewing.

I have never lost a staring contest.
I'm ambidextrous. Chalk boards are more fertile for my ideas than boring pen and paper (unless it's a Sailor fountain pen and Auroville paper)

I'm strangely known to sometimes cause 'confused inspiration' in people with my somewhat esoteric and flowery gushes of poetic expression.
