About Me

I am currently fulfilling one of the items on my bucket list which is living in Italy. I LOVE everything about Italy and have emerged myself in the Italian way of life. I love the people, the language, the architecture, the towns, the gentle, rolling hills, the Italian way of life - did I mention - I JUST LOVE ITALY, THE ITALIANS AND THEIR WAY OF LIFE!!!

I am not on Couchsurfing for free accommodation. I am looking to meet new people in new places and learn about their way of life. I will always reciprocate by buying food, or doing whatever is necessary.

I have enjoyed sharing my home, my town and my stories with interesting, unusual and adventurous people from all over the world. It is a special kind of adventure to open your home to perfect strangers! I have a good sense of humour and enjoy a good laugh. I adore my two teenage kids who have recently left home to follow their own adventures. I'd love to find out what your countries' popular vegetarian dishes are and I'd love to eat them together, as I believe sharing your favourite food with people is truly special. I enjoy running, long walks on the beach and yoga. The beauty that's all around us never ceases to blow me away. I am profoundly passionate about green issues, recycling, reusing and making a difference for the environment. I enjoy life and don't take it too seriously. There is ALWAYS a silver lining :) Get out of your comfort zone, overcome your fears and see where that leads you. I prefer ridiculous to boring. Be motivated and hungry to do things you love.
Live life with a passion for excellence.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I enjoy spending time with like minded people from all over the world, making new friends, sharing stories, laughs, wisdom and meals. I feel that people who leave their comfort zone to stay with complete strangers are adventurous and I'd love to meet them :)

I love the fact that I get to practice the languages I don't usually get the opportunity to speak :)

Shark cage diving with Great Whites in Gans Bay! Although the water was icy (to put it mildly), it was breathtaking - just the size of those animals is spectacular.

Jumping off Moses Mabhida Stadium last year with my kids - it was SCARY
