About Me

"When there is nothing left to burn, you have to set yourself on fire."

Disclaimer: Figuratively, of course. Don't sue me.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Honestly, wanted to travel around the world on the cheap since 2011. That didn't happen (traveling, at least, not yet anyway). Could've hosted, but couldn't because I'm living with my mom (used to be my mom living with me, but that changed. Living with the folks is socially acceptable in the Philippines, so don't judge :P).

Before I sound like a total d-bag in here, I sincerely love knowing different cultures and stories from different nationalities, that's why I'm here. So even if I haven't traveled that much (not yet anyway), it seems like I have, vicariously, through this rich tapestry of stories from people I've met here, who are all from the different parts of the globe.

And Couchsurfing people are really just fun to hang out with :)

Interests

Poke fun at almost anything. and poking. Two things that i do secretly. Seriously though, these float my boat : love, humor, sunrise, traveling, conversations, random conversations with real charming people while on a travel, the beach, crashing of the ebbs by the seashore, watching the sunrise by the seashore while having one of the best conversations in your entire life, watching the stars pass you by in a black but starry starry night, discovery, a full moon in a dark clear sky, friends, having sensible and also nonsensible conversations with friends while all of you are sooo drunk... and maybe when not so drunk too, coffee, hot showers, hot showers done for AT LEAST an hour, cool waters for men, sniffing cool waters for men for AT LEAST 4 hours, cathartic journal writing, getting to know who you really are, getting to finally love who you really are, first person shooters, paintball, airsoft, chillout, trance, trip-hop, chocolate and laughter.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like eclectic, indie types of music. So I guess that covers alternative, trip-hop and trance. Pop didn't hurt anyone either, so I am not ashamed to say I'm into pop as well. Just probably not the hurtful-to-the-common-sense type.

Movies... I love my sci-fi and comic book based films. Not so much of the family drama, unless funny. I love my stoner movies, for some oddball reason (I don't 'smoke'). And since I love my pop music, expect me to say that I love my romcoms as well, especially those who have Jennifer Lopez in it (haha). It doesn't hurt to be idly watching something predictable every once in a while, just probably not too often.

Books... I haven't been reading too much as of late, but I like my sci-fi, comic books (still a book after all) and anything about the world. Just wish they could put the latter in a digest and pound it in my brain hard so I could comprehend all of 'em real fast.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

So many things I've done in my life, that it now feels like I've shortchanged myself in giving myself some due - accidentally traveled alone into an island city (landed on the wrong island with no itinerary, but survived and even had fun), climbed a very high mountain peak (I hate mountain climbing), spoke first to a guy I really fancy, started an international event in the city, getting on stage and hosting away, etc. etc. At the end of the day, it really boils down to just fcking doing things even when I was unsure, scared or sense that I was going to be judged for it.

If only that holds true with having little but still having a goddamn enterprise. I guess that's why I'm advocating for startups now :D

I live for the adrenaline and the novelty :)

Teach, Learn, Share

I really love learning about the world and why people act the way they do. That's it. Your personal stories suffice.
