About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To be a woman who makes things happen and a woman who makes a difference!

ABOUT ME

The difference between genius and stupidity is that genius has its limits.

PHILOSOPHY

It's complicated and oh so simple: my happiness comes from when I'm contented and my un-happiness comes from when I'm discontented. My discontentment comes from when my expectations are different from my present experience.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have had the honor of hosting several incredible people and I'm addicted. Every person is like opening a new gift...WOW!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've taken poeple in on a whim (without references) and I'm pleased to say the CSer's promote the goodness of humanity. My "feet-first" experience was with the CSer's of Arizona trip to the Grand Canyon, sight unseen, 44 strangers from all walks and talks. It was such an incredible trip that I immediatley updated my profile from "available for coffee" to "have a couch" status, bought a queen size air mattress and hosted Megan and Joan. From that point on I was hooked.

Interests

I'm an avid runner, yogini, part-time cyclist, occassional indoor-rock climber, scuba diver and 100% adventurer. International travel, public/international health and soap making are my passions. I love to dance and in general just move my body.

Music, Movies, and Books

I don't own a t.v., on occassion I'll indulge in a DVD from my computer (I'm taken by psychological thrillers, i.e. Silence of the Lambs, the Bone Collector, The Usual Suspects, Seven, etc.) The dance scenes from Frida (Ahley Judd & Selma Hayek), Shall We Dance (Richard Gere & Jennifer Lopez), The Matrix (2nd one, with that hot rave-like dance scene) and Stomp the Yard moves me viscerally. I last read "Playing the Enemy" a book about the role of Rugby in South Africa under the presidency of Nelson Mandela...awesome book! The other stuff I'm reading is for graduate school. Music that makes my foot tap and hips sway is always the best...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The basic recognition, every day, that life is amazing.

Teach, Learn, Share

I really believe that the best way to take care of ourselves is by taking care of others (and taking care of ourselves).
