About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To see the world one couch at a time
ABOUT ME
I'm a pastry cook at a hotel in NYC. I've been in NYC for nearly 5 years now but have lived in a lot of states in the USA and a few other countries. Pastry cooks make no money generally but a corporate hotel gives me a little to add to the budget and I basically only use it for travel and adventures. I just learned that my hotel is renovating and I'll have a month off so I'm excited to see where I end up...maybe your couch? I'm not much for crazy partying but if I'm traveling I'm ready and down to see any and all of the city. Rest is for when I get home.
I love traveling and gaining new experiences by meeting new people and being put into new environments. I'm easy going but love to have a great time. I'm comfortable traveling with little to no money and just making things happen. I think that is when the fun really begins and you see who you really become in desperate situations. "The world is a book and those who do not travel only read only a page." I want to read the whole book.
PHILOSOPHY
Life is meant to be shared with others. It's like Into the Wild. He traveled and experienced things but found it nothing since no one was there beside him. I see traveling as a chance to figure yourself out but also to change who you are because you are gaining new experiences. My philosophy is to do all the things you want or dream about doing and don't do the things you don't want to do. Be honest to everyone and to yourself.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've surfed a few times and had amazing experiences with all of them; some of my best memories in Australia are with my CS hosts. I then hosted a few people in NYC until I no longer had a spare sleeping spot. What I loved about hosting was that I was able to impart local knowledge about NYC and my favorite places but I've found that CSers also are able to share with me their favorite places they stumbled upon in my own city and that gets me to explore even more.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Couch Surfed in Melbourne, Australia with two of the coolest guys I've ever met. Also went to Brisbane, Australia and CSed there. Both great experiences and met some really really awesome people! I've now hosted a lovely couple in NYC and hope to host many more!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've been through the biggest sandstorm in Mali, Africa in the last 20 years in which I had to sleep on the floor of a one room school building which the rain was pouring in (rain after the sand). There were 22 of us in one room sleeping on each other with fire ants biting us. Crazy experience but definitely a lifetime memory.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can bake cakes and cupcakes and decorate them professionally. I want to learn how to surf and how to paraglide or hang glide. I want to learn languages as well.
