Soy una madre de familia con dos hijos grandes, de los cuales una vive aún conmigo. Hace menos de dos años fui abuela, y ahora que tengo más tiempo libre, me gustaría ofrecerle a la gente que viaja un lugar en donde quedarse.

Me considero una persona abierta, interesada en conocer gente nueva, esperando aprender de las experiencias de los otros, así como compartir las mías. Me gusta mucho la naturaleza, salir a pasear por la playa o disfrutar de un mate con buena compañía.

Me crié en una familia muy trabajadora en un balneario pequeño en el departamento de Canelones, Uruguay. Me mudé a Punta del Este hace treinta años, por lo que conozco muy bien la ciudad.

Estuve viviendo en Estados Unidos durante casi 10 años, desde que volví a mi país dirijo dos peluquerías en la ciudad.

I'm a housewife with a grown-up daughter and son, my daughter still lives with me. Less than two years ago I became a grandmother, and now that I have more free time, I would like to offer travelers a place to stay.

I consider myself as an open-minded person, into meeting new people, willing to learn from others experiences, as well as sharing mine. I love nature, walk along the beach or enjoy mate in good company.

I was raised in a very hard-working family in a small coastal town in the department of Canelones, Uruguay. I moved to Punta del Este 30 years ago, and that's why I know the city very well.

I lived in the United States for almost 10 years, since I came back I manage two beauty salons in the city.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Vivimos en una ciudad muy linda que nos gustaría mostrarle al resto. Mi sobrino me inspiró a unirme a esta comunidad al ver su experiencia, dado que ha conocido muchos países gracias a Couchsurfing.

He visto cómo le han dan tantas oportunidades en tantos lugares, de manera que creo que es una forma de agradecer o "devolver" el favor.

Music, Movies, and Books

Mi música favorita: me encanta la música latina, pero también escucho algunas bandas en inglés. Soy muy abierta en los géneros musicales.

Mis películas favoritas: me gustan las comedias o las películas románticas, algunas de mis películas favoritas son "Diario de una pasión" y "Orgullo y prejuicio".

Mis libros favoritos: me gustan las biografías, los libros históricos, las novelas. También a veces me gusta leer algún libro de metafísica, o libros espirituales.

My favourite music: I love latin music, but I also listen to some English bands. I'm very open regarding music.

My favourite films: I like comedies or romantic films, some of my favourites are: "The Notebook" and "Pride and prejudice".

My favourite books: I like biographies, historical books and novels. Also, sometimes I like reading some metaphysics books or spiritual books.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Sobrevivir 34 años de matrimonio me parece algo increíble que he hecho, me sorpende.

También aventurarme a irme a Estados Unidos con mi familia hace veinte años, en un momento en el que la situación en mi país no era la óptima para vivir.

Teach, Learn, Share

Me gusta mucho cocinar, he hecho varios cursos al respecto por lo cual es algo que también me gusta enseñar.

También puedo transmitir conocimiento de manicuría/pedicuría/estética

Cosas simples como disfrutar de la tradición del mate, o de una buena merienda, o de una puesta de sol.

Cocinar comida típica del lugar, enseñar algo de español, hablar al respecto de las tradiciones de mi pequeño país, recíprocamente, me gustaría aprender de las culturas/tradiciones del resto, es una manera de enriquecer mi conocimiento.

Mi inglés es bastante básico, me defiendo, pero con los años se ha oxidado un poco, así que sería una forma de practicar inglés.

I love cooking, I've done several courses about it which is why it's also something I enjoy teaching.

I can also teach manicure/pedicure and estethics in general.

Simple things such as enjoying the mate tradition, or a good tea time, or a sunset.

Cook typical food of the place, teach some spanish, talk about the tradition of my country, and reciprocally, I would like to learn about the cultures/traditions of the rest, it's a way to enrich my knowledge.

My English is pretty basic, I defend myself, but with the years it has became a little rusty, so it would be an excellent way to practise it :)
