About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Enjoy life with as few regrets as possible and learning to chill out a bit more

ABOUT ME

Just graduated from college and I'm now spending the following year as an English language assistant in the Loire Valley in France... and traveling as much as I can. I think that life is an adventure and so is everything you do.

PHILOSOPHY

I live my life by four principles:
1) Life is short. Have no to few regrets
2)If you're going to do something, you might as well do the best you can
3) You can never have too many friends.
4) Courage does not always roar. Sometimes it is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, "I will try again tomorrow"

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I haven't done much couchsurfing, but what I have done, I've absolutely loved. I had two pretty great hosts in Italy who showed me around their cities. I loved being able to couchsurf and meet some wonderful people, and I am now a major fan of couchsurfing.

Music, Movies, and Books

music: classical to rock to country to jazz, but no rap or gospel
movies: anything but suspense and horror
books: anything by a russian author, anything from romantic period, anything thought provoking (think Iain Pears)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most amazing thing I have done in my life (so far) has been to spend my 2006 spring break traveling to Lima, Peru with Patch Adams and 18 other students from my school to clown. We visited an orphanage, hospitals, an elderly home, a home for abandonded people, and a few more places. The most amazing part about it was learning how to connect with others through laugher across cultures, language, and age. A close second was watching my fellow students (many of whom had never clowned before) open themselves and learn the potential inside.

Teach, Learn, Share

What can I possibly share or teach? Well, I'm an English teacher this year in France, so I'm always willing to help people with their English if they want. I also love to salsa and swing dance and am more than happy to teach a few steps or moves (or simply dance with you if you already know how :-). I'm also a huge lit nerd (mainly, mainly but definitely not limited to, theory and romantic period) so any discussion of books or literature makes me very happy. I honestly wish I loved to cook more, but I do love making desserts, so I'll happily share recipes with you. As for what I'm willing to learn? Anything and everything. If you're interested in it, I'm interested in it too.
