About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To see as much of the world as possible

ABOUT ME

We both started studying for our professional exams in 2008, during the next 3/4 years we built a dream of putting the books and careers aside for a while and hitting the road as soon as we were done. So in Sept 2012 we made that dream a reality and have been on the road ever since. We love to travel, meet new people and witness different cultures and ways of life first hand.

PHILOSOPHY

Life is short......make the most of it, do what makes you happy not what pleases the crowd, you cannot rewind and replay! DREAM BIG!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

At the moment being pretty nomadic and someone else is living in our home we cannot offer much in terms of a couch, but we are getting right into the CS experiance. Going to events and surfing and learning what it takes to be a great host so that when we do finally settle back down we can pay it back to the community! So for the monent we are surfers only.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We did some "surfing" while in South and Central America but more through random meetings of locals who offered us a place to crash. When we hit the states, we decided to try out the real "surfing" as we had learnt so much about it from other backpackers. Our main reason being to get to meet locals and see their homeplace through their eyes, their favourite bar, restaurant, sight etc. So we've currently surfed in Dallas, Austin, NOLA, Gulfport and PCB, all of which were fantastic experiances.

Interests

Our main passion in life is travelling. Seeing places we've watched in awe on travel shows for real. Through travelling we've discovered a great love for hiking and the outdoors. Cathal managing to climb to 6000mtrs (20, 000ft) on one hike in Bolivia. We also love GAA, Irish football and hurling. So much so we will fly home for two weeks in Sept 13 to watch a hurling final. Cathal has played GAA all his life and I've become an avid supporter.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Seeing our 8 nieces grow up and become little people, they are amazing girls.

Teach, Learn, Share

We want to learn about other peoples cultures, lives, hometowns....walk in their shoes for a while. We can share whatever skills and knowledge we hold in return, be it travel experiances and advise, boring aul financial skills, trip planning for our fare green isle!
