About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To explore, engage, and enjoy life!

ABOUT ME

First off, I'm always up for trying new things and meeting new people, so Couch Surfing seemed right up my alley! I figure the best Motto is to try everything once... well ALMOST everything... Being from Tennessee, I was raised with the Southern Gentleman mentality, so being a well-mannered, polite guest is basically in my blood! I play lacrosse, am in the Sigma Chi Fraternity, and live currently in Malibu, California at Pepperdine University.

PHILOSOPHY

My philosophy is to aim high in my goals while maintaining an amiable approach to life. Basically, drama is my kryptonite, so I prefer just going with the flow. I'm also a Christian, so I strive to stay true to my morals and my belief in Jesus Christ.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Well, I heard about this from some friends, so first I just want to see if this is something I could really get into and reciprocate as much as possible. From my beginner's standpoint, I'm pretty pumped about CS2!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

May 2008, Morocco: During this time, I had my first experience with CS and was absolutely amazed with how the system worked. Yassine, our CS friend in Morocco, at first was told that only two of our group of 6 needed rooms; however, instead of letting four of us fend for ourselves, he opened his home to all of us and basically treated us as old friends. He showed us around Casablanca, came with us to Fez and introduced us to his parents, and then went back with us to Casablanca again to show us the nightlife. All that time, he found us places to stay. Overall, for my first experience Couchsurfing, I can't imagine it being any better!

Interests

Lacrosse, American Football, American politics, public speaking and rhetorical studies, meeting new people, hiking, and simply exploring!

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies - Star Wars!!
Music - Pink Floyd, Matt Wertz, Dave Barnes, Led Zeppelin
Books - Birdsong by Sebastian Faulkes is my favorite book, but I like reading mostly just fiction. World War Z, The Count of Monte Cristo, and The Shack are some of my most recent reads, and I'm currently reading I Am Legend.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've been to Japan, Kenya, Morocco, and now all over Europe, so to pick just one thing is hard!

I would say one of the coolest experiences was sleeping in a Mud Hut in Kenya at my aunt's orphanage that she runs. I actually got to live the life, meet the people, and experience Kenyan culture, and I know I'm a better person because of it!
