About Me
¡Hello!
My name is Emilio
I'm a photographer from Bogotá (Colombia) interested in photojournalism, documentary photography, landscape, portrait and street photography. I have studied different courses and workshops around the country and also in la Havana (Cuba) and New York (USA).
I discovered my passion for photography when I was a soldier for the Colombian Army in 2006. During the service I was selected to be part of an international commission based in the Sinai Peninsula (Egypt) and there I started to shot with a camera instead of a weapon. Since I returned to Colombia my interests in photography increased considerably leading me to study the career.
I have been working in photography for almost 8 years. Started teaching photography lessons in a foundation for kids and teenagers, then worked for magazines, agencies and other clients as a freelance photographer, but during the last 5 years I have been working for the Colombian Government at the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit and also at Social Prosperity, the entity that works against poverty in my country.
Nowadays I am a volunteer with a foundation which works here in Colombia, specifically in Bogotá (the capital) with homeless people and kids in vulnerable conditions.
Love music, to travel or camping and hiking, interact from other cultures, practice sports and learn other arts. I love sunny days but prefer nights with stars. Love pets, kids, food,
