About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Finding Truth, Embracing Truth, Living the Truth

ABOUT ME

I'm a nerdy biologist, public health lover, soon to be doctor, and I continuously strive to see the good in others. I love experiencing new people, places, and food (I really like to eat). I'm quite small, and I like to take risks, especially when they involve traveling and the outdoors. I live a pretty simple life and don't need much in terms of every day conveniences. As I continuously learn about others next door and around the world, who are so different from me, I learn more and more about myself. I approach life (and the human body with all its intricacies and mysteries) with an immense curiosity. I am a person who aims to engage with others, including my future patients, with the greatest appreciation and respect.

PHILOSOPHY

If life gives you lemons...make limbupani. It's great for diarrhea too.
But in all seriousness, I know very little about the world. Each day, I am learning more and more, am extremely humbled by people and their lives, and aim to rid myself of my assumptions and biases.

"Always accentuate the positive" - Carl Taylor

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Right now, I'm all about just surfing and sharing experiences with others. Since I'm a medical student, I may not always have the time to host; however, I would love to one day give back to the CS community by hosting CSers who are passing through Baltimore.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I was inspired by one couch surfer in particular and her approach to CS, and she happens to be one of my best friends now. Through her, I met some great couch surfers in Pune and spent a couple of nights there. I love meeting people from all over the world, and have found that CS is such a great way to feel at home in a new place. I can't wait to get more involved in CS. Recently, I couch surfed with my friend across North India and Europe for a few weeks and was lucky to truly experience what CS is all about! The hospitality of CS'ers and their families was beautiful and I really enjoyed meeting people from all different backgrounds, cultures and religions. Though not every CS experience has resulted in a new best friend, I have truly learned, gained and become a better person from meeting Couchsurfers from across the world. I have a feeling that CS will become a part of my life even back home.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Witnessing illiterate women provide change the attitudes and behaviors of their fellow community members, as they educate and provide primary health care (and deliver babies) for thousands in rural India.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to take someone's blood pressure or explain to you the inside workings of the human bodies using some medical and non-medical terms. We can listen to some Bollywood music together and I can share with you stories of an Indian growing up in America. I would love to learn to cook different kinds of food, from all sorts of cultures, and how to travel like an experienced couch surfer. I am hoping to share many intellectual and thoughtful conversations and much laughter over a cup of chai or a bottle of wine.
