About Me

CURRENT MISSION

See the world, experience and embrace as many cultures and places as possible

ABOUT ME

I fell in love with couch surfing while I was studying abroad in London. I loved being in Europe and the travel opportunities it provided. My degree is in geography and I am passionate about the natural environment.

I spend most of my free time fencing, playing soccer, and volunteering. I am fencing A LOT these days, trying to be the best I can be and am competing all over the country.

I play on a coed soccer team year round, I have always played and am so happy to be able to continue doing it as an adult.

The rest of my time is spent working with Surge. I am on the Board of Directors for the non-profit Surge for Water. Our mission is to provide sustainable water and sanitation solutions to those most in need.

I love to travel and am open to going almost anywhere. I never tire of seeing new things, meeting new people and am always up for a challenge. I am very responsible and not fussy.

PHILOSOPHY

Where? When? Okay?

Thomas Jefferson once wrote "Traveling makes a man wiser, but less happy."
The only way I find to solve this dilemma is through continued travel. Wanderlust is a dangerous thing.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I was studying abroad in England in the spring of 2010 when I started surfing. My first couchsurfing experience was in 2010. A friend and I surfed all around Italy. I had an amazing experience, it was better than all the luxury hotels in the world. I would recommend it to anyone who is outgoing and really wants to get involved with their hosts culture. Recently I surfed in Nashville, my first American CS experience.

I am loving couchsurfing and hoping to stay involved. The most amazing thing about couchsurfing is the people you meet, because the people who are open to couchsurfing are probably some of the best people you will ever meet :-).

Interests

Futbol (Soccer), photography, trying new things, meeting people, fencing, volleyball, anything athletic, hiking, splunking, I like pretty much everything!

Music, Movies, and Books

I am such a kid at heart when it comes to books and movies.
Harry Potter Books, Chronicles of Narnia (except the 7th book)

In terms of travel books, I SWEAR by all the Rick Steve's guidebooks. They are by far the best guide book I have ever used. They give a great balance of guide facts, opinions and tips, where other guidebooks focus on the best restaurant and hotel, Rick Steve's guidebooks are great for someone who is not so picky when it comes to housing, say a CSer.

WALLE, 300, and National Velvet.
ALIAS, Doctor Who, Top Gear

Partial to poppy rock like Fallout Boy, Cartel, and Panic! At the Disco. Snow Patrol probably has my favorite songs, but there's just something about The Doors, Diagram of the Heart is one of my new favs.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I touched a baby King Penguin in Falkland Islands!

What I Can Share with Hosts

My excitement for where they live. There is nothing better than a good recommendation.

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina, Chile, France, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, Peru, Spain, Switzerland, United Kingdom, United States, Uruguay

Countries I’ve Lived In
