ABOUT ME

Hi all, My name is Apoorva, I'm 26, born in India and raised in New Zealand. My boyfriend and I are currently travelling around France. We love french culture and the french language. Daniel (my boyfriend) is a winemaker back in New Zealand and has just finished a harvest in Cote Rotie. He loves french food and makes a great coq au vin and boeuf bourgignon. His taste in cheese can also sometimes be a little pricey! He loves talking about wine and will share all his knowledge with you if you get him started on it.

Myself, I've studied Commerce and Property in NZ and went into a career in property. However a year and bit into it I decided it wasn't for me and will be going back to do something travel related. I think we all need to follow what we enjoy before its too late and we're looking back on our lives with regret.

PHILOSOPHY

Live life to the fullest because the best time of your life is now! Do what you want, when you want! And it's easier to ask for forgiveness than to ask for permission!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have had the pleasure of being hosted by some amazing people through couchsurfing and the memories will stay with me always.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I haven't really had much experience yet but heard great things from my friends who have participated in Couchsuring so I'm keen to give it a go. I hosted some friends from Germany and had an awesome time showing them around my city.

Interests

I love keeping active and fit. I love to run, kick-boxing, netball and definitely want to try all sorts of new sports. I also love to travel. This has led me to do a 3 month OE around Europe and a year long trip in America. I worked in NZ as a property valuer but had a moral conflict with the job so I have decided to go into the travel industry when I return home.

Music: I will listen to everything! But embarrassingly my favourites include Taylor Swift, Maroon 5 and London Grammar.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A New York blizzard...I found it so amazing that in the city that never sleeps the streets can be completely empty and everything stops when a blizzard strikes. Such a stark contrast to what you always see.

The grand canyon...the most amazing hole in the world!
