ABOUT ME

I am brand spankin new to Couch Surfing and am so stoked to get to experience the community that so many others have. I love to go where the wind takes me and meet people along the way, and this seems like the best possible way to aid in the adventure process.

I like surfing, music, people and Jesus. You’ll always find me involved in one of those things. Once a year I take a solitary surf trip down the west coast hitting all the major beaches from Ventura down to San Diego. It’s just me, my surfboard, guitar, and the Creator; my own schedule, getting to surf wherever I want, meet whoever I want, and jam with whoever I want. If I wasn’t tied down to anything, I’d probably do that for a long time. But I work as a music director at my church and it’s a huge blessing to make an impact doing what I love for a living. On the side I also teach guitar, DJ, do photography, and am a surf instructor. I'm always trying new things and learning more. I have this quote I made up (don't steel it!), and its: “I don’t want to have come to the end of my life, only to realize I barely lived it.” So I intend to experience and learn as much as I possibly can.

PHILOSOPHY

We were created and put on this planet to both Glorify our creator and to experience life! In fact, it's a way that we bring glory to him. If we do only have one shot here on earth, I don't intend to waste the day away on the couch playing video games. I want to learn, experience, grow, meet, cultivate, help, and do everything I possibly can. I guess it could be a form of "You only live once," but that could just get you to do dumb stuff. Experiencing the life we've been given is so much deeper. There's a whole universe of things to appreciate when it just comes to learning one thing. It fascinates me. So I want to be fascinated more and more as I grow older.

Music is a huge part of my life, and so I have sampled many different genres. It's good to be well rounded when it comes to being a musician. It makes you a better one.

I love the epic war movies like braveheart, troy, 300, kingdom of heaven. And also Tron and comedies like Nacho Libre, Hot Rod... There's a lot of movies out there, and I'm not too picky.
