Overview
About Me
I am a playful, sporty, (immature as well, i guess) person (debatable) who has the communication skills of a 4 year old (because of the multiple annoying brackets). I like to think that I am fun to talk to (but dont take my word for it, my opinion could be biased). I was born and raised in India, but I currently study economics in Germany. I enjoy cooking (vegetarian), going for treks, (doing silly things), watching and playing sports, and travel (obviously). I love camping and travelling a city on foot, to get a feel of it. I finally have time for 3 months before starting another study programme in Netherlands. So I am gonna try to spread my arms, and try to fly (and hope all the people watching me do this stop screaming in horror).
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I really like the concept of Couchsurfing. I think it is more than just crashing at someones place and saving a few bucks. The concept that you can stay with a local, and get to experience the culture first-hand, is exciting, and very different from the experience of staying at a hotel. It gives you a genuine feel of the land, rather than just the touristic perspective. You also get to discuss and share (also food :) ) more openly and make authentic friendships.

Music, Movies, and Books
This question terrifies me , its like trying to describe the perfect star in the sky (and now I'm thinking of Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds). I enjoy classic, alternative and progressive rock (Bands like Rush, Pink Floyd, Porcupine Tree, Deerhunter, the WHO), but also Indian and international music (lately into Turkish rap)
I have seen more films than I am proud to admit, some movies I like are Sherlock Holmes I and II, Pirates of the Caribbean, Inception, 3 idiots, and Korean thriller movies. (I stop for your sake, it can be a very long list ;p)
My favourite author is Charles Dickens (though he hasnt come up with anything new lately, lazy writing). My favourite books include Little Dorrit, the Alchemist, Farewell to Arms, and the Count of Monte Cristo.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One of my best experiences was in Cappadocia, Turkey. I was there with 2 other friends, and we had rented a car for our 3000km long journey in Turkey. We staying at an underground hostel for a night, but we decided to camp in the open for the next night. So we began a trek into the rocky forest, till we saw a nice cave some meters above. With some climbing maneuvers, we managed to make it to the cave, and decided to sleep early for the sunrise. At 5am, 2 of us began an unmotivated trek to reach a hilltop for the sunrise view. By the time we got there, the sun was just coming up, and along with it rose hundreds of hot air balloons. By the time the sky had changed its colors, we were no longer tired and decided to trek for 5 kms before waking up our still sleeping 3rd friend. Needless to say, we made his feel terrible for missing out on what is, my favourite memory from Turkey.
What I Can Share with Hosts
First and foremost, conversations. I come from a land of cultures and have travelled to some. I enjoy sharing what I have seen and experienced over the years. I can do serious and causal conversations (I go both ways :p)
Second (and perhaps slightly riskier), I like to cook for the hosts as an expression of gratitude. I can cook better than my mom (which says more about her cooking than mine), and I can make a lot of vegetarian dishes. I also like to lend any help that I can, to the household.
