I like meeting people and learning about life and the world. I enjoy going out, singing / playing trad and bluegrass,, practice Swedish massage and have done some meditation but would like to learn more. Also like making curries and going to live music sessions / gigs. Was living in Edinburgh for last few years after returning from Madrid where I taught English. Now just moved to Hanoi.

I didn't expect couchsurfing to be so much fun. After hosting for a few months and meeting some really incredible people I am really into it. I now have new friends who I can visit all over the world. And some closer who I keep in touch with and who I value a lot! For various reasons I can't travel much right now but meeting all these guests reminds how varied and interesting the world is. It also keeps me awake here in Edinburgh. The appetite of couchies to discover Edinburgh means I go to parts I wouldn't normally go and I get out and enjoy the city and go for walks in the nearby nature etc.

Ok, one thing to consider before requesting me to host you: Some couchsurfers think it is about cheap accommodation. If that's what you use it for please to not request to stay with me. (My view of travelling is that it is not just about ticking attractions off a list. It is about meeting people and going deeper into the culture or it is not travelling). I like to spend some time with my guests and have meals etc. Also, I have taken couchies to some local bars and bought some drinks and the guests didn't buy me one back. So, if you visit me, I will be really helpful, will cook and so on but you have to buy the first drink. :p Most couchsurfers understand this but some don't and also in some countries it is typical for men to buy women drinks - you are visiting a country where that is not the custom ..
