Hi there! I am Anna and now I live in Kyiv and work for an international organization here. This fall I'm moving to Sweden to study Master's Program in Global Studies at the University of Gothenburg and very excited about that due to my passions for social development and cultural diversity. Usually, I love traveling and discovering new places (sometimes just getting lost in the city or wandering around looking for some location on Google maps). Often in the new city, it is a good bar with a crowd of people and a cozy atmosphere, bookstores or places where local people go. I am a respectful, open-minded and friendly person, enjoying listening and sharing stories.

After living in a dormitory for 4 years before moving to my own apartment, I know well how to live in a shared accommodation :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Once my English teacher asked me to write an article about Couchsurfing. That was the first time I heard this word. Next step was the registration, and then, the first experience of using the app in Georgia back in 2013.

I have met great people through CS. For me, it`s not just looking for a place. It is looking for people to spend time with, share ideas and conversations. In 2014 my friend and I went on a hitchhiking trip through the Balkans and we were hosted by CS-members. This experience made our trip so amazingly special.

Interests

Traveling and volunteering (I prefer to combine both), gender studies, reading books and travel magazines, discussing global issues, playing the piano, collecting tickets and postcards, watching movies and TV shows.

Movies: "Les amants du Flore" (2006, incredible story about the woman with her own philosophy) , "The good lie", "1000 times good night", "Before Midnight", "Hello from Fukushima", "Miss Sloane", everything with Audrey Hepburn and movies based on true stories like "Whistleblower". Watch series "House of Cards". "Veep" (love it!), "Dietland", "Welcome to Sweden" and "Skam".
