ABOUT ME

I'm a Brit living in San Francisco. I moved to SF in October 2008 after growing up right on the west edge of London and spending more than a few years living out in Colchester, Essex.

There's still lots of SF I've not yet seen, but I'd love to explore it with visitors.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm pretty new to couchsurfing but I'm enthusiastic about it. You can usually find me at the SF "Underground" couchsurfing meetup on Wednesday nights.

Interests

I'm a bit of a computer/Internet dork -- it's basically a prerequisite for my job. But I also like being outdoors and exploring, whether it be in the city or in nature somewhere.

I enjoy listening, dancing and singing to music of various kinds though my attempts to actually learn to play music have generally not got very far.There isn't much music that I actively dislike, but I generally prefer music that's lyrically or musically clever, or honest and heartfelt. I love to go to small, intimate gigs and discover cool local bands.

I also enjoy languages and linguistics. It always intriegues me to learn about the differences and similarities between different languages and how they evolved the way they did.

I like to hang out at a bar in a small group and have a good chat over some drinks. I'm a beer drinker, but I won't hold it against you if you prefer something else! I'm less enthusiastic about noisy, crowded bars and nightclubs but they can be fun sometimes with the right company.
