ABOUT ME

I love deep thought, great conversation, and compassionate people.

I've explored different ways of trying to approach the crises of this crazy world. I've spent a lot of time in activism, and was lucky enough to find work in that area. I also did an eight month ecological gardening programme on small-scale farming, market gardening, livestock, permaculture and our relationship to the natural world. Currently, I'm working in social services.

I practice meditation regularly and have a strong interest in philosophy and questions of meaning and purpose in life. Many would say I over-think things.

things are strange, confusing, painful, beautiful. it's good to help, good to be helped. i have not made much sense of what's going on here, but i'm still trying.

I've met some great CSers during my travels and I know a number quite well. My experiences hosting have been very good. And I surfed once, in Seattle.

i've only actually surfed one couch that I found through CS. When I lived in Edmonton we hosted a bunch of great folks.

Music, Movies, and Books

mmmmmm books. i really like most things i read. Brothers Karamazov, The Gates of the Forest, The Fall, Self-Deception, Man's Search for Meaning, bell hooks' All About Love, Joseph Boyden's novels.
Music: folk, indie rock, blues, classic rock
i really like most movies i see too. i can even get into some pretty lame and cliched movies. kid's movies too. but i'd usually take a good drama or classic. the pianist, into the wild, Scorsese films--these stand out for me

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Butterflies--thousands upon thousands of monarch butterflies kissing the first rays of sun peaking through the tree tops of an enchanted forest. That, I think, must be one of the most beautiful sights one could ever see.

i play some guitar. i'm happy to share of the little knowledge that i do have and would love to learn more and play with ppl
philosophy, psychology--these are also things I know some about, could share knowledge and always wanting to learn more.
i practice yoga and meditation regularly, and would be happy to share my practice and whatever knowledge i can.
