Hello! I am a happy, curious, open-minded person who's incredibly grateful for the life I have. I live in White Rock BC, a little town with a lovely long beach located about 50 kilometers from downtown Vancouver. I live with my husband who often travels for work. Our two amazing, young adult children live near by and are around quite a bit. I teach art to children and occasionally adults - it’s a wonderful, satisfying job.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm a huge believer in sharing…sharing stories, sharing ideas, sharing knowledge, sharing meals, sharing stuff…so I love how couchsurfing provides the opportunity for me to share my home and my life with others and for others to do the same with me. There is also something that feels good about being a part of a sustainable sharing economy in today’s world where so much stuff already exists.

Music, Movies, and Books

I often like indie music and films - work that is a little left of mainstream. I love reading - mostly fiction but some nonfiction too. Some of the authors I like are David Mitchell, Margret Atwood, Michael Ondaatje, Kazuo Ishiguro, Eleanor Catton, Miranda July, David Sedaris.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Night swimming with my children at Hapuna Beach. Definitely magical...the dark sky filled with stars, the ocean glowing with the flash and sparkle of phosphorescence!

Teach, Learn, Share

There are so many things to learn! I'm always interested in discovering new things. I especially like sharing cooking and meals. I'm becoming more and more vegan so I'm interested in sharing the bit I know and learning more.

What I Can Share with Hosts
