I am a proud mom of two great sons. Daniel is in the Marines at this time and David who is in welding school. I enjoy the outdoors and recently bought a new bike to take some weekend rides with friends. When not working my job I like to work on my house, garden and try to finish all my scrap-booking Ive needed to get done for years now. I became a widow 10 years ago and found myself a single parent. But through all the challenges we became a stronger family. I have a large extended family in the Houston area and all the cousins love getting together. In fact my parents live with me and it has been so wonderful for my kids to grow up with them. Family is important to me and so I make great efforts to stay connected with as many family events as possible.

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

I got interested in couch surfing after listening to a friend of mine talk about all her experiences. They were all good and actually too good to be true. It seems she made friends everywhere she went and stayed for free! I couldn't believe it. I thought how fun and neat this would be to do now that my kids are grown. I look forward to meeting new people and seeing new places that now is possible because it fits into my budget.

兴趣

I love nature and building things. My husband and I built our first house and remolded our 2nd. Sadly he died in 2004 which sent my life into a new direction. I am involved with my church and hope to take some mission trips to help build churches or homes for others. I love to collect coins and its hard not to stop at every yard sale sign I see. Ha. Am I the only one that does that? right now I am going through each room of my house and painting ceilings, trim and walls. A woman's work is never done.

I love to listen to oldies music from my era in the 70's. But like Christian and country music also. In High school ROCKY and Star Wars were my favorite movies but now I'm into the Hallmark channel or Downton Abbey series. Besides my bible,, I like to read real true life stories about people who have made a difference in our world. Most nights before going to bed I will read "Chicken Soup for the Soul" stories which always lift you.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

I have had many amazing things in my life and could write a book like so many of you could. But.. A really amazing thing for me was when I went to an orphanage in Columbia to volunteer. We took shoes an small toys to the kids and I will never forget the smiles on their faces. That was many years ago but I still can see them and they made me a better person for that experience.
