CURRENT MISSION
To travel, have adventures, meet interesting people, immerse myself in different cultures. Share stories and good times. Eat all the amazing food of the world! (The general Wanderlust agenda!)
ABOUT ME
Hi! I'm Ape (short for April I guess. It's such a long name to remember, right?)
I live and work in London; freelancing in film, television, theatre and other media. Currently looking for more permanent assistant roles.
I'm passionate about cinema and film, and I love collaborating with others who share the same interest in filmmaking. Sometime in the future I have plans to start filming a travel series showcasing my experiences couchsurfing around the world. If you'd like to get involved, please send me a message so we can discuss :)
I will fill this in with more detail later. But in the mean time, I suppose you could check out:

15/3/2020 ~ Okay, finally an update -a million years later... Ha!
So, a little bit about my background. I'm a mixed race Filipino woman - we call this in Tagalog (the official main language of the Philippines) "Halo-Halo" which translates as 'mixed' -and it also happens to be an iced dessert ... or in Spanish speaking countries, Mestiza.
That's what I am!
My mother is from a tribe in the Northern most part of the Philippines islands, high up in the mountains. You may read about it here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Igorot_people
Whenever I do return back to the Motherlands to visit my very extended families I would like to host people interested in experiencing tribal culture and even brave enough to stay in some jungle settings and surroundings. The people are very hospitable and welcoming, so you should feel comfortable and safe. I would be your guide of course and make sure that you would see the hidden amazing sights, off the beaten track. And anywhere else you would like to explore on our little paradise archipelago.
Anything else you're curious about, please, just ask away!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I had an OG account before this one, but couldn't remember my log in details, so I had to make a new. I've been using Couchsurfing since 2004... Wow! for around 16 years (I think) from the start of the concept, before it became a lot better known. It was a recommendation from a friend who had a positive and successful couchsurfing experience, I figured it was a really cool community of like minded people and decidedly I concluded that Couchsurfing was a great idea. So here I am 15 (or so) years later and still giving the Couchsurfing website and the community mad props.
I just want to meet some interesting, amazing, inspiring human beings who understand the Couchsurfing traveling wanderlust lifestyle.

I ADORE world cinema (I'm really obsessing over Celine Sciamma's films right now, I can't get enough of 'Portrait de la Jeune Fille en Feu', Old B&W -such as the works of Buster Keaton and the like, documentary films, horror/gore movies and animated movies. I listen to classical, jazz, blues, alternative, rock, electro and rap/hip hop (eclectic tastes). Amongst my favorite literary inspirators are; Antoine Saint-Exupéry, Nabokov, Marcel Proust, Baudelaire, Kurt Vonnegut, Charles Bukowski, Anais Nin, Yukio Mishima, Osamu Dazai, Simone de Beauvoir, Jean-Paul Sartre ... the list goes on forever and it's the same with my beloved books.
