About Me

✿ヾ╲(。◕‿◕。)╱✿・゚
I know I don't look 95, but it's because I drink a lot of water and moisturize. lol (If you ask, I will tell you)

I spent most of my childhood traveling and living outside the US. so if you ask where I am from it's not as simple a question for me as it is for others. I generally say Germany, because most of my preteen years (starting in 1st grade) were spent there. By the time I came back, I was for all intents and purposes an English/ German speaking foreigner- with every bit of awkwardness one might think that would entail. I had to learn how to "be American".

My upbringing gave me a case of wanderlust. So I'm striking out again, both in the US and abroad. I can be a little reserved when I first meet people, but I have a very live and let live attitude about life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

There is a big difference between being a tourist and being a local. Being a tourist can be very isolating and limiting. I want to sample all life has to offer and that includes meeting people outside of my normal social circle ^.^

All friends start off as strangers, so I'm excited about meeting my next travel buddy.

Favorite Quote:
"Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime." - Mark Twain

Interests

Music, movies, a complete foodie. I love art.

I'm addicted to novelty, so anything that I have never done is generally of interest. I love to try new things, new foods, new cultural experiences, new fashion- new, new, new, new! lol

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I love good music, no matter the genre. I also like bad music 'cause it's good for a laugh.

I personally listen to everything from R&B/ HipHop to Country/ Rock, Classical music and Kpop. Don't be surprised if you see indie artist, Opera, and Sinatra on my playlist. Good music is, well good, music- Let's DANCE!

Movies: I love quirky films like Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Donnie Darko, Black Snake Moan, and the Wizard of OZ.

Book: TOO MANY

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Helped restart a community garden in a food insecure community. (Hopefully we can turn it into a farmer's market one day and bring income into that community).

Teach, Learn, Share

Besides the obvious, I'm Haliwa Saponi, Irish, French, Welsh and though I'm American, I spent my younger years living in Germany. So I have all of these little pieces of history and culture in my back pocket that you wouldn't know about unless you talk to me.

I think everyone has little gems hidden beneath the surface. So there's always something we can learn from each other.

Besides that I have a sincere interest in politics and social justice- not just in regards to issues that effect me, but also others. I've organized and taken part in many feeding/ clothing the homeless meetups. I'm passionate about people in general.
