About Me

Currently I am working as an intern at the German Embassy School in Beijing. I will stay there for a year to gain more teaching experiences before I continue my studies.
I enjoy to work with Kids, to observe them how they explore the world and their own talents. I see myself as a facilitator and mentor who is supporting them in their learning and trying to create an environment in which they can make their steps in their own pace.

My second reason to go to China was to learn more about the Country where my biological roots are and to try to connect with its People and culture.

One of my principles is to look at the world as one country, and that we humans are all part of the big Family called Mankind.
Another one is that everyone has gems inside him/her that has the potential to enlighten the world around him/her. So I believe that from each Person I can learn something valuable.

Im a friendly, open-minded, patient, spiritual and sincere companion. I like to enjoy the moment and to get surprised by the unknown.
Though I can be very active I also appreciate lazy days where I can relax with a film or a book and a cup of tea.
Since five years I am a vegetarian.

Back in Hamburg I frequently hosted friends and other People because I enjoy making others happy and comfortable. So I would say Im a down-to-earth guest myself because I know how much compassion and caring it takes to be the one hosting.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Friends in Beijing and from my travels recommended couchsurfing because they had amazing und fun experiences with the CS Community.

Though I have been living in Hamburg - what might be the most beautiful City of northern Germany - for most of my life I have travelled around various cities in Germany and other countries since many years. I've met many People from different ethnical and religious backgrounds which is probably why I'm fascinated by other cultures and lifestyles.

I look forward to explore new places, to spent time with other People around the globe, to learn about manifold views on life and share stories as well as beautiful moments.

In Beijing I live with a family so I am a bit restricted to be a host myself...

Interests

I like doing crafts, painting, reading and taking strolls as well as walking tours.
I also enjoy baking a lot.

Seeing and experiencing the beauty of nature makes my heart brimm with joy.

Music, Movies, and Books

I often listen to classical Music but Im not too fixed on any specific genre.

Movies - there is a lot of various ones I appreciate. The recent one was "The story of the weeping camel".

Since I learnt to read I had tons of them in my hands and spent nights being captivated by stories like Harry Potter, Pope Joan, The Alchemist, Eragon etc. My favourite genres are Fantasy, Romance, Historical influenced Stories, and mainly working as an Elementary School teacher I enjoy Children books too.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Volunteering for three month at the Lotus Temple (Bahá'í House of Worship) in New-Delhi, India. That was definitely a lifechanging experience.
