About Me

Hi guys, my name's Aqib and I'm from Bury, near Manchester in the UK. I'm 25 years old and currently working as a doctor.

MISSION: To make a friend from every country in the world.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing is such a good way to meet new people, I love learning about new cities from the locals and find their advice invaluable.

Interests

I'm a big sports fan, football, cricket, basketball, tennis, squash, table tennis, you name it. Music, reading, podcasts, movies, TV shows, exploring new cities. I love outdoor activities, like rock climbing, kayaking etc... Would love to do that kinda stuff more often.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music - A bit of everything; my music tastes goes from R&B to country to pop to indie. Favourite artists/bands include: Mumford & Sons, Ed Sheeran, Bastille, Adam Barnes, James Arthur, Jason Derulo, London Grammar, Bear's Den and Ben Howard

Movies - Mystery & thriller, superheroes, comedy - The Prestige, all things Marvel, Inception, Now You See Me, Jump Street.

TV - Suits, Game of Thrones, Prison Break, Sherlock, Luther, Arrow, Flash, PLL, American Horror Story, Breaking Bad, House, How I Met Your Mother, The Big Bang Theory. Currently watching House M.D.

Books - Again, mainly mystery and thriller - Pretty much anything by Dan Brown, The Truth About The Harry Quebert Affair (Joel Dicker). Recently been getting into non-fiction - The Power of Habit (Charles Duhigg), The Invisible Gorilla (Christopher Chabris).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hiked to the summit of Mount Snowdon, Wales.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach - The capital cities of a lot of countries, a bit about the human body, Bulgarian and Urdu. A few basic chords on a ukulele. How to cook some Asian dishes.

Learn - I'd love for you to teach me something different to cook! If you can help me master sushi I’ll forever be grateful. I'd want to get a taste of a new culture, wherever you're from. Teach me a musical instrument (I've been dying to learn to play guitar for years).

Share - University experiences, general knowledge, a funny story. I've been chased by cows and horses and lived to tell the tale. My extensive supply of tea, coffee and hot chocolate are yours for the taking.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Love discussing a good book. Currently self-teaching myself to play the ukulele so would love to share the little I know! I'm a pretty talkative and sociable person, I love meeting new people so I'm sure you'll get a decent conversation out of me too.
