ABOUT ME

I love playing piano, bowling in a league, singing in my church choir, trivia, boardgames, videogames, hanging out with friends, and overall relaxing. I'm a very easy-going guy and I love meeting new people. I'm also a furry, but that only extends to a small group of friends in town and online. Other than that, I'm just your average, nice guy =)

PHILOSOPHY

I live my life to be the best that I can be. Whenever I die, I would like to pass knowing that I've left some sort of impact on the world (whether it's one friend/family member or something that impacts many). You only get one shot at life, so I feel as though one should make the most of it and make the world better for everyone else.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm willing to host people. My roommate who got me interested in this has much more experience than I do, but we're in it as a team and hope that anyone who stays with us or houses us will enjoy the experience =)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've only stayed at one person's apartment through CS. My roommate and I were going to a videogame tournament in Houston, and the person who was supposed to house us canceled at the last minute, so it was either find a hotel for a couple nights (expensive), or ask someone on here, and thankfully someone came to the rescue. So I've only had one experience, but it was wonderful and I'd love to be able to help out others if they need it.

Interests

My main interests include hanging out with friends and playing games with them and socializing. I love being around others, but I'm also a firm believer that people need their own space as well, so I keep a nice balance between personal time and socializing.

Music, Movies, and Books

Favorite movie of all time is The Princess Bride. I can very comfortably say that I can recite the entire movie at any notice. Other movies that I love include How to Train Your Dragon (the furry in me loves that movie, and I associate most with dragons so this movie's instantly up there - and it's a really good movie on top of that, heh), Mrs. Doubtfire, Mr. and Mrs. Smith, The Dead Poet's Society, Caddyshack, Groundhog Day, and a plethora of others.

Favorite book is The Call of the Wild. Not sure why, but I've always loved that book and I love the way it's written. I honestly don't read that much, so my book library is pretty pathetic.

I love videogame and movie soundtracks a lot. I was a music minor with a focus on composition, so I find it fascinating to see what music comes out of the minds of the composers when they're told to write music for a specific scene or environment.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once jumped off a 60-foot cliff into water... Other than that, I counsel at a piano camp every summer in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Going along with my wanting to be a teacher, I love seeing my students and seeing how they've grown over the year, and knowing that they are happy to see me each year is reward enough for the hard work I do.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm actually hoping to become a high school physics teacher. I hope to be able to leave some sort of impact on my students by teaching them life lessons as well as how things work. I come from a liberal arts college where the idea is to be well-rounded and to be able to link everything together. I love the idea of that and I hope to be able to show how everything interlaces with each other no matter how different.
