About Me

I'm a masters student in architecture at the Université de Montréal, but my heart is in Ciudad de Mêxico where I did a one year exchange at the UNAM and met my Mexican princess. I've lived most of my life in Canada, but also in Sudan, France and Mexico and traveled a lot in Africa, Asia and Europe. I went to Mexico on exchange to gain a new perspective on my life, to dance, to travel, to perfect my spanish and to make life long friends! The warmth and passion of the people inspired me to value my daily life in a whole new way. My princess taught me a few recipes I could show you.

I love music, movies photography, food, art, and I'd love to learn about the people that visit our place just as much as the people I visit outside the country. Aquí tienes tu casa.

If you want to see some of my travel experiences check out my film photography on my Flickr blog!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To travel, learn, have unique experiences.

As a guest I look to learn and share unique experiences with hosts and have a good time exploring new places. I learn more when I travel than when I'm still, I have a NEED to travel and learn about other places.

Music, Movies, and Books

MOVIES: I enjoy going to independent film projections in Montreal and seeing movies at the Cineteca in Ciudad de México where they show independent and alternative films. I especially love seeing historic films.

MUSIC: Techno parties in small venues. In Mexico I discovered a whole new realm of powerful music, cumbia etc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I got my open-water scuba certification in Lombok, Indonesia where I saw numerous turtles, octopus, colourful fish and reef, and even sharks! I hope to go diving more in other countries.

Teach, Learn, Share

Worked as an intern in UNICEF Sudan for 6 months.

What I Can Share with Hosts

CUISINE: I know a few really delicious mexican vegetarian taco recipes, and generally I enjoy cooking and discovering new local recipes.

OPEN HEART: I am a simple traveler, with an open mind, an open spirit and an open heart. I'd love to hear your local stories, traditions and history. In general I love meeting new people.

ARCHITECTURE: As a masters student in architecture I can share stories of the french and british architecture in Montreal, and show you some cool neighbourhoods. I have learned alot about the history of Montreal, its architecture and its people throughout my degrees!

TRAVEL: I have lived and traveled around the world, even in countries where the history isn't well known in the occidental world. I'd love to share some stories with you about my times in the pyramids of Sudan, the safaris in Tanzania, the jungle in Chiapas, Mexico...
