ABOUT ME
I was born on a wintery afternoon in December 1981.....
Fast forward about 28 years and I guess I would describe myself as someone always looking to learn something new, try something different and meet new people.
I live downtown Toronto, and love the big city life but what I love most about Toronto is that there are great little neighbourhoods to visit and create small communities within such a large population.
I love to bike. I have worked in film and television since I graduated from University and love working admist creative and introspective people.
I love travelling and my travel bug usually acts up every 2 or 3 years. But I loathe tour groups and co-ordinated travel, instead preferring to take long trips, with an extra purpose - such as work (if I only I could find more international job opportunities!) or visiting a friend living in some exotic location.
That's all I can think of for now to describe myself - but please ask me questions - that's the best way to get to know yourself.
PHILOSOPHY
Oh gosh. I'm still trying to figure this out. I guess what I try to do is just to live my life in the most honest way possible, to be a good person, rich in stories and experiences instead of "things".
I also really like the philosophy of what Dr. Seuss said via an elephant named Horton:
"I said what I meant and I meant what I said. An elephant is faithful 100%"
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have a pretty sweet apartment set up in Toronto and I would love to offer it up to travellers passing through the city.
I'd be interested in meeting travellers and hear about their trips and experiences.
Maybe it'll help soothe my travel bug and hopefully I can offer some great advice and a comfy place to sleep.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
When I travel I usually stay with friends or in hostels - but recently I've learned about this website through a few friends and I think it's a wonderful idea. I'm looking forward to getting some meaty couchsurfing experience to add to this section.

Teach, Learn, Share
Here's a quote I like and might be useful in this forum, I have no idea who said it - I just wrote it down on a post-it note and I've kept it:
"Never make your home in a place. Make a home for yourself inside your own head. You'll find what you need to furnish it- memory, friends you can trust, love of learning and other such things. That way it will go with you wherever you journey."
