ABOUT ME
I'm sort of an uncomfortable materialist (in the Spinozistic sense, not the Madonna sense). I find my natural inclination is to veer toward skepticism, but I usually do it with a big smile on my face. I absolutely love learning about almost anything. I love talking with people about topics that are usually super esoteric and sometimes over my head. I like to do that (and most things) outside more than inside.
PHILOSOPHY
I believe this is a work in progress. I'll let you know when my manifesto is complete.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I host folks in the house. Sometimes I surf in other people's houses. We hang out and have dinners and chats. Sometimes we look at pictures and talk about the weird and amazing things we have seen in this world. I try to offer the best advice I can about what to do around here, or ask what there is to do around there. Sometimes I just lay in a hammock and do nothing.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Pretty darned great.
Interests
I love music more than is probably healthy. I love exploring. I love new people and their stories. I love quirky movies with flawed characters and witty dialogue. I love accents. I love being somewhere where I have an accent. I love to eat good food with good people. I love to have beer and wine with those people. I love to take photos that are interesting to look at. I love tattoos, on others as well as on myself. I love people with good hearts and open minds. I love many other things I could not remember when I was writing this.

Music, Movies, and Books
I like movies, but books and music are the cat's pajamas. Music is so awesome for so many reasons, but you probably already know most of them. In the entirety of my life I've only met one person who didn't care at all about music, and I'm betting dollars to donuts that she was really an alien or something.
I read a lot. Mostly nonfiction stuff that would be pretty boring to list here. I like a good novel now and then, but I think it's been a couple years since I read one.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The world is so packed with amazing things that I don't know what to say here. Life has been one amazing thing I've done, and often times the most amazing single moments are those that seem mundane when described to others. There are majestic and stunningly beautiful places I have seen, but the best parts are those simple moments with wonderful people that make life so great. Nature's vast power makes us feel insignificant in a profoundly beautiful way, but our relationships and love of people tells us of our significance in a way that is equally profound and beautiful.
Teach, Learn, Share
I am a certified ESL teacher, I can help you with your English. I'd love to learn some Spanish or Italian. Please teach me how to cook good things. Or mediocre things. Or really any sort of things.
I can teach you some woodworking, and maybe you can leave here with something you made.
