About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Do what you like and like what you do!
ABOUT ME
I was born in Russia and immigrated to USA when I was 17 years old. I currently reside in Florida and never regretted it – it is hard to beat beaches, sun, and oranges growing on the backyard. I am an RN, working and constantly continuing my education. I enjoy learning new things and skills. I think learning a little bit about everything is better than knowing a lot about one thing. It's hard for me to think of a bad day I had. Don't matter how bad things seem sometimes, there's always a better angle, and all I need to do is find it:)
I love to travel and one of my goals is to visit every state in USA. Mark Twain said, "Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” And so I do explore, dream, and discover:)
PHILOSOPHY
I have few mottos that move me through my life. First is “Do what you like and like what you do”. I found myself working in professional medical field and enjoy it and the schedule the job provides. In the free time I like traveling, reading, meeting with friends and making new friends. I can be spontaneous at times – talk to a friend over the phone, pick him up in an hour and take a overnight road trip to a different state is a good example:) If I had a chance to learn something new – you won't have to ask me twice.
Another motto is “Don't wait for perfect conditions, you will never get anything done. So just do what you can with what you have where you are.”
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I share, learn, connect, and support. I share what I know, learn what I don't, connect those who need to be connected, and support the new and good.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've discovered CouchSurfing about 3 years ago. At the time I was limited by my school and work schedule, and only had couple of chances to use the services. I took the road trip to Savannah, GA, and met few couchsurfers in the area, as well as friends of my friends who didn't know a thing about couchsurfing. They sure do now:) But what a great time it was!
Interests
I read a lot, drink lots of coffee and green tea, laugh often, learn to play piano, love different languages(getting basics in Greek right now) and cultures.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love reading inspirational authors. Lately I was reading Seth Godin, and Gary Vaynerchuk. I've read a lot of russian literature, love Esenin, Pasternak, and Blok. Mark Twain and his notes about society became a true jewel on my bookshelf. I prefer paper books over the Kindle versions. Nostalgia, I guess.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The immigration. It opened up so many opportunities in my life I would never have a chance to get otherwise!
Teach, Learn, Share
Besides the medical background, I know few things about a few things and can give a jump start on any of them.
I'd love to learn more languages and more hands-on skills. For example, I was thinking about going to CA for a season and learn the wine-making process while working at the winery. That kind of skills:)
I'm about to be a licensed massage therapist, so there are quite a few things I can tell you about essential oils, different types of massage, and may be even teach some techniques.
