About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Travel travel travel! Explore the world and meet some fantastic people!

ABOUT ME

Hi there!!! A little bit about me-I'm born and raised in Calgary Canada. I LOVE travelling and I LOVE meeting new people. I am obsessed with learning about new cultures and I absolutely love being thrown into new cities and exploring them. I really love playing soccer (football) and wouldn't mind playing some pick-up soccer along the way in my travels :) I also love music of all types and am very interested in learning about new bands and artists from new places. I am currently learning how to play the guitar as well. Other things I love doing while travelling include-walking along streets, going to concerts, visiting museums and historical sites, shopping, eating drinking...just hanging out and talking. Basically I could go on forever but what you really need to know about me is that I am very friendly, approachable, ready for adventure and very easy to talk to! I am also very respectful and clean when I stay wıth anyone.

PHILOSOPHY

Where you invest your love you invest your life. I truely believe in living my life fully and with passion, being open to new people and to new experiences.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Still new to it, but very open and very excited to have even more experience with it!

Interests

I spend my time doing the things I love, with the people I love. I really enjoy playing soccer, playing the guitar, reading, writing, traveling, listening to music, and basically doing anything that gives me the chance to meet new and exciting people! I am currently studying Naturopathic Medicine and I have been in school basically all my life. I do enjoy being a student, but I really want to explore other arenas in life and seeing the rest of the world.

Music, Movies, and Books

-Books: Harry Potter! (yes, really!) Currently reading a couple of books by Eckhart Tolle, and a book called The Book of Destiny, which is about the History of the Mayan Calander (just for fun.) I generally end up reading books related to school courses, which I'm trying to shy away from, so please help me out with this and introduce me to new authors and titles :)
-Movies: I haven't seen movies in a while, to be honest! The last one I watched was The Vow (on the plane). I would really like to watch French movies though!
-Music: Really anything! Right now I'm into a lot of acoustic folk music, since I'm trying to learn new songs on the guitar. For example, right now I'm listening to a lot of City and Colour (Dallas Green), James Morrison, The Fray and Coldplay.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

This past February I volunteered with an organization called Naturopaths Without Boarders, at a Naturopathic clinic in Haiti. I was given the opportunity to work along side very hard working and passionate people who are making long-term and sustainable changes in that area of the world. I was so inspired by their dedication and I was so fortunate to have had that experience. I would definietly love to go back there one day and continue being a part of the changes being made there.

4 years ago, in 2008, I took part in a 8-day bike ride in India, (from Mumbai to Goa) as a fundraiser for a charity called FOCUS Canada. The bike ride took 8 days and 7 nights. We would wake up at dawn and bike until the sun went down in the evening, and camped out in tents. I had never done anything like that before which made it quite a memorable (and tiering!) experience for me!

I was just in India and now SE Asia, backpacking, and learning about the world, especially with respect to natural healing found in these parts of the world including homeopathy, tai chi/chi gong, yoga, and various mind-body meditations.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can't wait to meet more people, from different backgrounds and cultures. I truely believe that endeavours like these are the first steps in bringing the world closer together.
