COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've hosted 13 or so times in Washington, DC, Almaty, and Moscow -- and I've couchsurfed in Spain, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.

Literature (of all extractions, but particularly Russian lit and 19th C. English lit. at the moment), Central Asia, Kazakhstan, human rights, contemporary and modern art.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I spent six months as an NGO volunteer/free-lance journalist in Kazakhstan. I've helped deliver a child into the world. I've helplessly watched a friend die. But I think the most impressive is living day to day.
